My CD player doesn't audibly play, CD player is good, I hear a little scratching from the speakers. Also, it takes 10-15 minutes before the tuner will play.

The player is having problems reading the CD. This can be for several reasons. Remove the CD and see if a different one has the same problem. This way you can find out if it’s the player or just the CD. Wipe off the smudges on the back of cd. If cd has too many scratches or smudges it won’t play. There can be many other reasons why it doesn’t play.

Make sure your speakers and speaker wiring is the correct impedance and not shorting.
Ensure there is plenty of clean fresh cool air for the amplifier.

Sounds like your cd player is dirty or the disk you are trying to play is scratched and not useable?

You can purchase a cd disk cleaner at any department store or office supply. All you do is play the disk and follow the instructions. Some come with a mix of alcohol & water and have small brushed on the disk itself to place the liquid and this helps clean out your equipment. Others clean without liquid.

Check the disk itself for scratches and try wiping it off with a lint free towel. After cleaning your cd player, try playing it again and if it still skips - replace the cd. If a brand new disck skips in your disk player after cleaning it then your lazer might need repair and I would recommend taking it in to a local stereo installation and/or repair shop.

Error 1.Battery inside CD Changer needs to be replaced.
Error 2.CD error message. Mechanism has as eject problem or takes a long time to select CD.
Error 3.CD error message. The pick-up is out of focus during play mode due to scratches on the disc or contamination.
Error 4.Connection problem. Reconnect the data cable.
Error 5.CD error message. Could not read correct data due to CD ROM.
Error 6.CD error message. Could not read data from disc because it is upside-down.

For error code 6:
Try an original purchased cd with no scratches and see if the cd player reads it. If yes then lens is dirty or tired so try using a cleaning cd(has little brushes on it). If it doesn't read with the original cd try using the cleaning cd and if no go then look at purchasing a new cd player!

first- is the tuner set to mono or stereo? if stereo, stop using the analog rca jacks and use an optical (toslink) cable to transfer your audio to your receiver. almost all cd players have this output and the same with the receiver. better still, if you are using a late model cd or bluray, and your receiver has hdmi inputs use those as they will transfer both audio and video with one cable.

If it does it with any cd and it played before you have to clean the lense or laser. Get a cd player laser cleaner disk or cd. If you still have problems take the radio fuse off in the fuse block to restart it. Remove the fuse wait five minutes then reinstall. Also some times when you burn CDs in the wrong format the cd player will not recognize them.

This might be a shot in the dark, but there possibly is a reset. Look for a little hole, about the size of a paper clip, usually with the faceplate off. Take a straightened paper clip or reasonable facsimile and gently push into hole. If this works it will reset everything to factory and you'll lose your pre-sets etc.

Take it back for a refund or replacement, If you have speaker output on the tuner,their is no reason or why it shouldn't give you tunes when you insert a CD.

If you are playing STANDARD CD or regular DVD that you have purchase and you are having this problem,your dvd player is malfunction;however,if you are playing DVD burner disc or a different dvd region disc(we are region 1 in U.S.) that is no going to work.Same thing for your CD burner disc,it might not work.
If you are using a rental dvd disc,check and see if there is scratches?If so,try to get one without that many scratches!
