How do you get this off of demo mode

    I have the same problem- we have a 605 160 gig that is stuck in the demo mode.

    I have the same problem but with an Archos 604(not wifi). And the reset button does not solve the problem.

    i have a new archos 605 wifi and its stuck on demo firmware. when a push the button it just turns the whole thing off and nothing else happens

    I have Archos 504 and I am stuck in the DEMO MODE. I tried to press the reset button but it didn't do anything. You said to press reset on the base with paper clip. I don't know what you are referring to. Can you elaborate on the solution.

We called tech support and you fix it by doing a reset on the base of the device. We used a paperclip to push the button. Hope this helps!

Switch the Archos off completely and not just to standby.
Use a paperclip or similar and press and hold (for about 15s) the reset button in a tiny hole beside teh connector on teh bottom.
This worked fine for me this morning.

Hey guys i went into demo mode and now im stuck...i tryed to turn off my archos 605 80 gb..and restarting it for about 15-20 seconds and nothing happens..what shud i do ?

    hey guys i got a solution...kk...put your system on and while in the demo mode screen press the power button and the restart button for about 5 seconds and turn it back on...for more help if it never worked...go hereDenon D-M35 stuck on demo mode - AVForums

Demo software should not be on the device is sold to a customer. Because it is for stores to display them. If you have demo software working on your archos 5 press the power button and hold it for 10 seconds until it shuts off this will reset your device. And it should come up with normal user mode

Yes, there is, go to Menu, then i think it is System and towards the bottom there is demo or regular.

Archos 101 internet tablet cant get out of demo mode
Try this:
Power your Archos 101 off by holding the Power Button for 10 seconds (this fully shuts it down).
While holding the Volume + button power it back up (tap power button to start up, hold volume until the tablet enters recovery mode, you'll see a series of choices instead of the demo mode).
Choose the Format System option.
When this process is complete make sure not to select Demo Mode as Android boots and the Archos 101 gets up and running.

Archos 605 wife (wife firmware)
If you chose any of these options already your Os is gone.. 
try this solution 
I fixed my son's 605 4 GB had Recovery code (104) on it. This might work for other error codes too. These are the steps i followed 
* Use the computer for this process that you always used for this archos Archos should be plugged in to Pc before starting the process.
* Download the firware Upgrade 2.1
* Plug the Archos to Pc 
* When the white option screen comes up pick the format disk
* Wait until all done do not pick any option on archos after format is done Pc should recognize your archos in 5 seconds 
* Put the firmware in root section of the archos not in any folder.
* Safely remove the usb for Archos from your pc first and then unplug the cable.
* Do not pick any option on the Archos screen
* Just turn it off from the power button by holding it until it turns off
* Wait about 5 minutes and plug it back to pc 
* it will come up with white screen again but this time it will start Update you will see the progress bar moving, wait until it is all done, it will shut off. Turn it back on and  your archos will be back to normal

I sen't you a solution didn't you get it?
If your archos 605 is in recovery mode I beleave the firmware(software) would need to be reloaded.

Here is the firmware for the 4GB version of the device, the page has instructions on how to load the firmware. Click on "how to install firmware" for step by step instructions.

I cant access my files when I plug my Archos 605 into a computer!
i had the same problem what i did was i downgraded my 605 to
Archos 605 Wifi (20GB-160GB) OS v 2.0.10

then i upgraded to Archos 605 Wifi (20GB-160GB) OS v 2.1.04

ARCHOS 605 WIFI FIRMWARE DISABLED
hitesh_rao - the reset button is at the bottom by the USB and docking ports. Tiny hole, need a pin or paper clip. Once pressed, just switch it back on.
This may be a stupid question, but when trying to configure the TV IR controller function and entering the relevant codes for my TV's, it asks 'did the TV switch off = Yes/No?'
None of my TV's switch off and then I cannot go any further with the config. Is this right? I have logged this with Archos FOUR times now, and they just respond with 'the controller does not control your TV'. I am fully aware that it is not a TV controller, but then why does it want to switch off my TV during the config? I just want them to answer that question.
Somebody please help!

Seeing as this unit is so new, you have proberbly not got round to downloading anything important. ??
Try doing a system reset (the tiny hole on the base of the unit)
marked reset, gently insert a straightened paper clip,this should restore the factory settings.

archos 605. yesterday it showed error code 104. i downloaded firmware and put it into the route directory and booted it up. it looked like everything was fine but now it continually shuts down after anout 5 seconds of getting to the main screen. the battery was fine yesterday so i dont see how it can be the problem.

Can not access archos 605 on my computer through the USB. I've had my archos for a while and it worked great, but now when i plug in to a USB port it says that it is connected on my archos but the computer doesn't recognize it at all. I've updated the firmwear and tried both XP and Vista but the same thing happens. Help Please!!!
