System dead

Hi Fr.David
You mention '..info on BIOS..'
Is your BIOS (or anything) displaying on the screen?
If screen is also dead, then your PSU 5V (red) section is suspect.
As the fans are fanning then 12V DC (yellow) is still OK.
To check your PSU, unplug & disconnect all power connector cables (note where they go, esp the M/Board supply).
Some PSU's have a green 'signal good' wire which to test must be grounded with a paper-clip etc to black.
This tells the Power Supply Unit to start up.
Black is common negative, Yellow 12V positive, Red 5V positive.
I'm positive.
I hope your test results are not too negative. ;)
Hope this helps.
Clive.

In have a spst 12v lighted toggle switch that i use in my hobby i cant keep it lighted i use it to shut off the power to sideing tracks on my ho model train. new to wireing it hase 3 blades pos acc neg ....

Hi Gi Joe. I am assuming that you are wiring this on the DC side of the train power supply. So, the negative from the power supply goes to one of the rail connections. From this run a wire to the negative of the switch. The positive of the power supply runs to the positive of the switch. The ACC of the switch runs to the positive connection of the rail. The switch breaks and makes the positive connection to the rail. The power supply is 12 volts I also assume. The light should now go on when the switch is set to ON and suppling power to the rails. The negative of the power supply provides a return so that the light goes on and the train can run.
Please leave a comment if this helps.

Need a new power supply for my MDL WD32001032-001

go to radio shack and tell them you need a 12 volt 2 amp universal power supply.
take your external power supply with you you will need to match up the adapter plug up to it.
when you find the plug have them assist you in making sure the center tap is positive,
and the outside is negative.

cheers

DELL SX270 WILL NOT COME ON HAVE LITE INSIDE PC

the power supply is probably bad. It's really hard to tell without a little more information. When my power supply went bad on my computer. the hdd light would come on but nothing else and the computer would not even try to start.the power supply puts out several different voltages with both positive and negative outputs.

My tecnics Amplifier Model # su-v98 has no power. I've checked all cords

Try these test, the only common possibilty would be the transformer and the power supply if both channels are out.You better to check both the positive and negative voltages from the power supply to see if both are present or if one or both are missing. This would be dc voltages of approx.20 to 40 volts. The positive voltage must be equal to the negative voltage, with the exception of their polarity. If one higher than the other, the regulator in power supply is busted already. The transformer can be checked for AC voltage before the power supply. This reciever uses a single power supply so the problem would be,common to both channels. You better change the regulator and checked some capacitor near the regulator.
