Sounds like the tape misfed during the recording and wrapped itself around the fly head and recordinghead. This happens sometimes when the internal workings of the recorder get dirty. The hard part is getting the tape out without damaging the unit. Your going to have to bring the recorder to a repair shop or crack it open yourself and from the opposite side try unwind the tape.
need to repair or replace the unit more likely the VCR belts are not tight enoughsince the advent of DVD recorders the quality of VCR components has gone way down I have 3 combo units the only one that still records is in the unit which only has a DVD player in it. and even that won't allow tracking adjustment
Sounds like you will need to format the memory card. This will permanently erase all the data from the card and then you will be able to use it again. To format the card: Press the Ok button - right arrow to Mode Menu - down arrow to Card tab - right arrow to card setup - right arrow to format option. You will see format yes or no. Choose Yes and press ok. This will clear the write protect message and the card can be used again.
