Power off Toughbook CF-T2. I was wandering why I have to hold in the power button in order for the laptop to shut down completely. I shut it down normally through Windows but the laptop does not power off when done.

View the power settings in BIOS (usually by pressing the DEL button just right after you power on the machine). Some have an option to automatically power off once the OS has finished.

That is because of the invention of power saving modes, where a single touch puts it in sleep mode and a 4+ second touch turns it off.

Check the bios to see if there is an option under the power saving section. You may be able to change this function to suit you.

I have a panasonic CF-74. Suddenly it will not turn on or show that it is charging. What do I do?

On any Panasonic Toughbook, I would try to hold down the power button for 12-15 seconds continously unit you hear an audible beep and that will cause the unit to "reset". Then you should be able to power back on as normal. If this does not work, try unplugging the Toughbook, taking out the battery pack. Do not yet put the battery back in but plug it back in. Then try to start the unit. If this does not still work, then try holding down the power button again for 12-15 seconds. If the unit is just stuck in suspend or hibernate then one of these actions is almost certain to work.

Good Luck.

How do i scroll up and down on a panasonic toughbook cf-t2

The verticle scroll can be done in two ways. Using the mouse to point over the scroll bar. Left click and hold the left mouse button and drag your finger up or down across the touch pad. The second way is to trace a circle around the outside of the touch pad.

I hope this information was helpful. Let me know if you need any further clarification.

I have attached a link to the panasonic manual download page for your toughbook. You can download the operating instructions booklet to see more information about your toughbook.

My toughbook does not recognise USB memory

Please follow the steps as mentioned below
  • 1 Shut down your computer the proper way if possible, via your "Start" menu. If your system is completely locked up, however, then press your PC's power button and hold for 5 to 10 seconds, and your computer tower will turn off.
  • 2 Unplug your computer - this is a very, very important step! Unplug your PC from its power supply. This will typically be the uppermost black cord at the back of your tower. For a notebook or laptop, remove the computer's battery and then un-pug its cord from the laptop. It is not enough to switch off your surge protector - you must unplug the cord from your laptop.

  • 3
  • Wait for at least 30 seconds after all you computer and Internet equipment is unplugged. This will allow enough time for any residual power to drain out of your different devices. You can speed up the process as you wait, by pressing the power button on your unplugged computer, which will help to drain all the power that is left over in your PC's motherboard.
  • 4 Now reconnect all the Device and check the issue should be resolved. Please try connecting the USB device directly to the Computer's USB port.

  • Hope this should resolve the issue.. Please get back if the issue still persist.

    Thank you. Bye

I was on my Panasonic Toughbook CF 73 this morning, I had been using a wireless connection, but I could not get the wireless to work, so I plugged in the adapter and the phone line for dial up, I got...

On all Panasonic Toughbooks the following works.
Please unplug you Toughbook and remove the battery pack.
Then Please do not put the battery pack back in.
Without the battery pack, plug back in the Toughbook.
Try to start the Toughbook, it should work.
If it does not, try to hold down the power button for 12-15 seconds continuously. This should "reset" your Toughbook.

    Good Luck.

Mouse cursor jumping uncontrollably all over screen.

Your touch pad drivers need to be installed. Power off the laptop. Install an external mouse, power back on and install drivers. When finished, power down, remove the external mouse and reboot.
