Question about Samsung SGH-D500 Cellular Phone

1 Answer

'no number' missed calls

Most annoyingly my D500 is inconsistent in displaying a landline callers number both for received and missed calls. Sometimes it shows the correct number and others it just states 'No number' even fo the same caller. Even for my home landline which is stored in the phone it sometimes displays 'home' and others 'No number'. Is there anything I can do to correct this?
Thanak you

Yes i have the same phone and repair tonnes too.

clear the numbers on the phone, not the sim. now restart the phone switch off take battery out and push the red power button. now replace the battery and switch on. copy all the sim numbers onto the phones memory and backup the numbers onto a computer (a mobile phone store will do this for $25 (ish) )

now clear the sims numbers. so now all your numbers are on the phone only. this will solve the incorrect numbers which the phone reads off the sim incorrectly.

also good idea to clear the calls incoming, outgoing, missed, received.. by deleting them, as the D500 sometimes gets these confused as they are stored in the same place and under the same file headings.

this should fix the problem. also it a good idea, if the phone or sim is old...   is to get a new sim.. just get the number and so on to be transfered across.

or.... (please backup pics, vids, numbers everything!!!) try:

*2767*3855#
or
*2767*2878#
or
*2767*3855#

good luck.

Have accidentally barred a number, how do I undo it?

On a mobile or land line?

If on a mobile, normally it is associated with the recipient in your contact list. May also depend on your type of phone android or ios (iphone)
check there contact details in your phone then there is normally further options in there profile, like add to favourites, or list and block / un-block caller.!

On a landline would be simuler in the phone history of callers - block / un-block caller / number.
Sometimes it is with the landline exchange sysytem, then call the operator.

hope this helps :•)

Caller display doesn't work

From the BT website...

"If you are using your phone on a broadband line make sure you fit an ADSL microfilter between the telephone line cord and the telephone socket."
I'm guessing you have one on the landline, probably next to the router but not the handset base :-)

Caller id just says incoming call

You have given no make, model or network and country details, so my answer can only generalise.

On mobile networks usually you'll only get that message if the caller has withheld their number. On landline networks you often have to enable caller ID via the phone company; some supply the data free, others make a small monthly charge which they'll usually waive if you seriously threaten to switch to another supplier.

If you're on a mobile network and never receive caller ID data and if your phone is not a super-basic model which is unable to display such details, then you need to check with your network operator as it could be a fault with their network or even with your local cell mast.

One ring - noise like fax to caller, phantom call to receiver

Try unplugging all sets and call in. Do you still have a faxlike tone, like from an ALARM system or something else down the street?

Don't get the name of a caller display on incoming calls. the number of the caller is stored in the contacts but just comes up with "Call" on any number. Missed calls also do not display a number just (no...

The caller is using private number. If you wanna know who's calling you, turn off your phone. If the caller always call you all the time, you'll be lucky. Because there will voice message received from the operator and you are able to know the number who's calling you.

You can do that also by typing "#31#(destination no.)" then call.

Can't receive calls from a landline phone

yeah it's because i think you have the "name display" feature offered by Fido/Rogers i got the same problem lol. Call them up and tell them to take it off or change your package. a1200 doesn't support the "Name Display" feature.
