As the paper passes through the printer, it pushes against little black sticks that wobble back and forth to trip the different sensors. These little 'flags' usually kind of stick up in the middle of the plastic along the paper path. Look over the whole paper path and find all the little flags and make sure they're all moving freely. Sometime you can knock them out of place while removing a jam...then you can't get rid of the jam error. As the paper passes through the printer, it pushes against little black sticks that wobble back and forth to trip the different sensors. Hello there
You may not see a paper jam.
This may work for you, it has worked for many here I given this advice so gave it a try it could work for you.
Generally when this happens, something has fallen into the printer, or a piece of paper has been jammed in there.
First step, remove the ink cartridge, and turn the printer upside down and gently shake it, see if anything comes out.
If nothing goes, or you can't hear anything rattling around, get a piece of cardstock paper (60lb or heavier) and gently push this through the printer, to see if it will help push out what might be stuck in there. And gave the rode that the ink slides on a good clean and maybe a bit oil on cloth and wipe the rod with it. Also clean The purge unit, called a spittoon assembly in an HP, Lexmark, Caonon and other inkjet printers, is where the print head assembly parks when not in use, also its other job is to clean and make sure the print head is clean and open for printing. That is where you'll find the print head assembly parked on top of it. It also has an electrical pump to milk the print heads and test for ink flow. So clean all under where the heads are parked and on IP6600D models you can take out the heads just by clipping them out, and then clean well.
Please come back and just gave a vote, it will gave me some satisfaction to know am helping some one so I will keep on helping.
All The Best: Pineworks
Request you to get it check with the engineer personally or their might be a piece of paper stucked somewhere in the corner. I tried the same and was fixed
open the rear access door and clean the rollers with a cloth, dam it with little water and unplug the machine and press and hold the ON button for 1 min and release the button and plug in the power cord, it should resolve the issue.
reset to factory defaults, also check the whole printer for paper jams. A paper jam can often casue smaller pieces to get stuck in gears or rollers. The message about opening and closing the lid is how the printer knows you went in to check it and closeing it triggers it to try again. If thers still a jam it will keep giving the message. The fist jam was caused by something, check and make sure there isnt any pieces of plastic broken off inside. If it has a rear access panel, check there also.
I had the same problem. When I inspected the printer inside I detected that on the right sight of the metal thing that's guide te cartridge holder some plactic piece had broken.
When I glued it, everything went OK for a couple of minutes. Because of the presure on that plastic nock it broken again and the same error appeared on the screen.
the only thing that can be done is to go to your printers and faxes folder and looking for your HP printer icon, right click on it and select uninstal, switch off and remove printer from the usb port
Next go to add/remove programmes and look for any HP printer software listing and uninstall it and restart the pc.
If you have the installation cd that came with the printer reinstall the driver and when prompted reconnect the printer to a usb port preferebly a different one than before if you have spare and continue.
reset the HP printer to the default printer if not already been prompted to do so by the software and try again printing, if the result is the same the printer itself is faulty and requires servicing or replacing
