Batteries have an acid in them, you have to use baking soda mixture to clean everything, and then check for broken wires.

Does not power up after corroded batteries are replaced.

Sometimes these is corrosion on the contacts from the corroded batteries. Try cleaning it off with some sandpaper. Make sure to thoroughly wash your hands after or use gloves!

Good luck.

Batteries won't respond to system

Always be sure the battery is charged and suited for your camera.
Check contacts of the battery and in the battery compartment of your camera. Dirty or oxidised contacts can be cleaned with a dry cloth. Never use sharp tools to clean contacts or anything in or on your camera.
Always charge the battery before using it for the first time, or if you have not used it for a long period. 3 months is a very long period.
Also check if the battery door is closed correct. Most cameras do have a switch connected to the battery door. If the switch does not work correct, it could be you can't switch on your camera.
If you have a multi meter, you can check your battery. After charging the voltage should be higher (few tenths of a volt) than the voltage printed on the battery.
If the voltage is slightly lower, you know thee will be not enough left when the battery needs to deliver some power.
Do not use alkaline batteries unless it is absolutely necessary. In some cases, alkaline batteries may have a shorter service life than NiMH. Alkaline battery performance is limited, especially at low temperatures. The use of NiMH batteries is recommended.
Never use manganese (Zinc-Carbon) batteries in your camera.

I have a Norelco 4845 XL rechargeable razor that has not been used for about 8-10years. I took it apart and the batteries seem to be coroded around the terminals. What can I use to clean the terminals...

It would not be a good idea to try to use the shaver with those batteries...even if you cleaned them. If you intend to use the shaver, you should replace the batteries. You will find correct batteries at

I have had my S9600 for 4 years, for most of that time, when i changed the batteries, all my settings remained the same. Now, when i change the batteries, every setting has returned to factory standard...

No internal battery. After the batteries are in the camera for 2 hours, there is enough charge in the camera to hold on to settings for 6 hours. If you take longer than that to install fresh batteries, the settings are lost. Here's what the manual says:

OKOK:At the time of purchase and after leaving the camera for a

long period with the batteries removed, settings such as the

date and time are cleared. Once the AC power adapter has

been connected or the batteries have been installed for 2

hours or more, the camera settings will be retained for

roughly 6 hours even if both sources of power are removed.

Sometimes the corrosion extends into areas that are not visible. You don't say what kind of camera it is. Was it expensive? Is it worth fixing or would a new feature-rich camera be a better choice?

I have a Town & Country fire place with a MAESTRO Control System which includes a wall control and hand held remote. There is a red light flashing on the bottom of the wall control under what appears...

behind the wall control there are 4 AA batteries that need to be replaced. you have to remove the wall control plate with a screwdriver and the batteries are tucked into the wall behind the wall switch.
ps - my husband is an electrician and he wired the fireplace but forgot that there were batteries behind there! it was me who asked for the screwdriver. ha!!

Need help bad

once it is coroded there is a chance to clean it but guarantees are not givin this works :

take a stick with two peaces of paper (also used to clean your ears , sorry don't know the english word) put a little (max 2 drops ) of pure alcohol on one side, silide open the battry component , go inside with the wet side first , do not press to hard and go up and down the battery component holder. once wet , take the other (dry side) to clean the battery component

repeat steps until it looks good, than leave it a dry place (normal room temperature) for 24 hrs / 48 hrs , check if the unit is dry after 24 hrs, if so insert batteries like GP / VARTA etc do NOT use cheap cells and i recommend buy a set of 2700 - 2950 Mah NIMH accu''s witch powercharger and hopefully you have a working camera with power
