Question about Intex Automatic Salt Water System for Above Ground Saltwater Pool

HI again - I can't get any flow from my INTEX 8111 - this is an above ground pool and I tried last night again - set the salt generator to operate but after a minute or so it beeps with code 90 - NO FLOW........can I hook up my Hayward Cartridge filter to the return into the pool and the other end to the INTEX to get some flow???

Had the same problem. Removed the filter and pressure washed it. Code 90 is gone.

There may be hair or debris stuck on the flow sensor OR you may have the input and output reversed. The input comes from the lower of the 2 holes in the side of the pool and hooks up to the middle area of the 8111. The output comes out by the electro cell and hooks to the higher of the two holes in the pool. The flow sensor can be found just inside the electro cell component. it should swing freely when you press it.

You may need to contact the dealer who sold you the pool. Tell him you nee to get "water flow" to filter your pool water so that it can sanitized.
Once you do as he instructed and it still isn't working have him send you help free of charge.

What is the recommended end-of-season maintenance for the chlorinating pump?
According to the Intex website, the following maintenance is required for this product:

The Intex Saltwater Pool Systems are designed to operate with a minimum amount of maintenance. It is recommended to always turn the pump on prior to turning on the Saltwater Pool System (see Owner's Manual) unless the chlorine generator is part of a combination pool and filter set, to ensure that air pockets are eliminated from the hoses, and that water is flowing through the unit. In addition, the electrolytic cell should be examined and cleaned if necessary. The frequency of cleaning will depend on the local water conditions, pool usage conditions, and length of time the Saltwater Pool System is operated each day. (See Owner's Manual.)

The Intex Saltwater Pool Systems contain several features that minimize maintenance requirements:

1.) An automatic self-cleaning cycle: The Saltwater Pool System automatically undergoes a self-cleaning cycle to maximize the operating length of the electrolytic cell.

2.) Safety diagnostics: the Saltwater Pool System will alert the operator to three conditions that could result in poor operation: Low water flow through the unit, Low Salt level in the pool water, High salt level in the pool water. If any of these conditions exist, the system will sound a buzzer, and flash a digital code on the control panel (Model 8110) or a Red LED will light up. (Model 6110).If the condition is not addressed, the system will automatically shut itself off to prevent damage to the unit.

I checked the Intex web site and here is what they said:

There are several things you may need to check and do:

- Test the salt level first with Test Kit, and add salt as needed.
- Remove the electrolytic cell for inspection and clean it if necessary.
- If code 91 still appears despite the above steps, there might be a possible electrolytic cell
failure. Please contact Intex Service Center, and replace the cell if needed.

NOTE: Always turn the power off and disconnect power cord before cleaning and servicing.

Where do i add salt to my intex automatic salt water system
Ad salt right in the pool water. Filter and brush around to disolve. Do not try to generate chlorine for 12 hours or so.
Make sure your salt content is as close to 3000ppm as possible

I have an above ground pool 18' round 52" deep. I purchased the intex saltwater system. I have had it run everyday for 8hrs a day and the ph is high and reads no chlorine. What to do?
Salt generating systems cuase pH to rise over time so you generator appears to have been working. What is the salt level in the water? Perhaps your pool is low hence no more chlorine generation.

First of all you should not have set it to generat chlorine until straight filtering for 24 hours. unplug then plug it back in

Do I have to drain my 24 ft round above ground pool to install an intex salt-chlorine generating system? I have just opened he pool and the ph and chlorine levels are where they should be.
no need to drain go to the intex web site and look up your pool size for the starting amount of salt you need.
After ading it run your filter for at least 24 hours before trying to generate use this web site and click on the english version for pump 8110 once it downloads go to page 13 14 15
to find the salt amount you need

Brand new 2009 model 8111 can't get filer to run
There is an air lock, so it seems. Leave filter off, on top of filter is a valve to let air escape. Keep this open until you get a stady stream of water from oulet, then close. Start pump. Not being a smart ****, besure that the water flow is correct. Skimmer to inlet side, return to pool.

Why does my intex salt water filter show 88 and not 00. And when I press the down button its a slow beep and up button is a fast beep but nothing happens I have the saltwater pump hooked up and when I plug it up numbers 88 instead of 00 show up and none of the lights come on and when I push the up or down arrows I just get a short or a long beep.
