Take out the batteries and seperate the two individually. Use a regular 12 automotive battery charger on each battery. It will take a couple of days to do this but after that time reconnect the batteries and try to use the 24 volt charger to top them off. If none of this works, then the batteries are finished and new ones are in order.

Battery will not charge entirely

Take your battery to a auto supply store such as auto zone / advance Auto / pepboys these stores will check your battery for free, most likely your problem is you have cells dead in the battery, one cell being dead can make a battery not charge all the way.
Most batteries are good gor four years IF you are one who does not do any maintenance

Had the alt replaced on my 98 etc in march. Last month the battery not charging light came on and the car died. Bad alt or more serious problem

If you have access to a multimeter start the car put the meter on range 20v dc or if it's an auto range meter just put it on DC and while the car is running put the meter at the battery pos to pos and neg to neg . it should read between 14 - 14.5 v if it's not the alternator is not charging the battery. If it reads OVER 14.5 It is cooking your battery. I have 2 Cadillacs myself and the rebuilt alternators you get are horrible i replace 2 a year cause the rebuilds are crappy. I used to rebuild them myself but the kits are no longer available.

I have an completely dead car battery and i need to know which setting is required in order to use the 2/15/125amp starter charger?

Disclaimer - I accept no responsibility for anything I say here. I may be wrong, so use your judgement on taking my advice.
Advice - First try the web and/or the manufacturer for the manual for the charger - if that fails, what I'd do for myself is...

125 for starting the car (ONLY, not charging the battery) 15A for charging dead/low battery 2A for maintaining battery
If 125 doesn't start the car, I'd call AAA

My Sony P1i just went dead one day. it won't power up. Battery is fine. when u plug power the light glows and steady. repair shop says software needs reload, is there i can do myself, itried firmware...

My P1i appears completly dead after running Update Service. I've tried removing the battery, fully charging the battery etc. When i run Update Service again it just says my phone is up-to-date.
any suggestions?
Update only says "No new software is available for your phone. Your phone already has the latest available software installed."

Then gives the option to Exit only

Camera wont turn on.

try replacing the battery. Check best buy, radioshack or other camera dealers for a battery. Possible deadcell battery. These lith-ion batteries die with no warning. If there is no change, the camera is defective!! hopefully htis helps

2006 Toyota Rav 4-My battery went from fine to dead in :45. Help.

Answering your questions in order:
  1. No, there's no such device to prevent the car from starting; a battery that requires a jump start would require more than 5 minutes running time to recharge. The battery needs to be charged to work again, (unless it has a dead cell, inexpensive battery testers will confirm). A jump start is still possible but wouild require leaving the jumper cables on for at least 15-30 minutes to provide enough of a charge to start the Rav again. Charging on a battery charger is preferable.
  2. Yes; short trips and lack of use will kill a battery over time.
  3. Yes; Here is a link to the basics of checking a charging system http://www.aa1car.com/library/charging_checks.htm
In summary, most should get more than 3 years out of their battery. You've already determined that the acid levels in the battery are good (most don't even check for fluid levels). Constant charging and discharging will kill a battery and this isn't apparent in your case.
If a battery charger isn't handy, try hooking up the jumper cables and leave the other car running for at least 15 minutes. I hope this answers your questions. Best of luck.

Battery dead - can i replace it w/ any 12v or does it have to be volvo?

The worst thing to do to a battery is to put a boost charge on them. A trickle charge is best. yes you can change it yourself just replace it with the same group size that you have. Most places that sell batteries will charge you a core fee if you don't bring in the old one. just take the old one in & the store should be able to match it.
