If the Standby light is blinking at the front panel of the TV, it seems that there is an internal malfunction occurred in the TV.
I will forward a link to a page where you can get more information and troubleshooting steps for this issue.

http://www.kb.sony.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?cmd=displayKC&docType=kc&externalId=C399467

Please perform the steps provided on the page. If the issue still persists then service of the TV is required.

Thanks to renjit 007 I had a problem with my Sony KDLV26-XBR1 and I went to:
http://www.kb.sony.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?cmd=displayKC&docType=kc&externalId=C399467

I had a live chat with Mitch and after a 20 minute chat I had my problem solved. Thanks to all involved.

My problem was that it was taking up to 5 minutes before the picture and sound would come up. I could not enter the diagnostic mode either. After disconecting every thing connected to the set and shutting off the power for a minute, all was well when I restarted the set.. It now starts up within 10 seconds and I can access the diagnostic mode. :-)

Hi there, We need help with our sony wega 3210 model. It wont turn on and we need to get a remote. Please help!!! Thanks JA:)

Hi there, I have the same model display unit but with no receiver box. Did you manage to fix your display? It may not be a direct solution, but if you have the receiver box and arent using it then I would gladly buy it from you, and you could then put that towards a new one? A long shot, i know, but my screen is completely useless without! All the best

I have a sony wegs lcd tv with a seperate monitor and media centre. when I turn the media centre on the monitor lights up green on the stand by light and then afetr a couple of seconds the monitor switches...

The STANDBY light will flash if the television detects an issue within the television. Some of these issues can be resolved simply by following the steps below to reset the television.
If the issue is still unresolved after following all of the troubleshooting steps, service may be required. Please note the number of times the STANDBY light flashes and relay that information to the service center.
  1. Turn off the television. Unplug the television power cord from the electrical outlet.
  2. Let the television remain without power for 60 seconds.
  3. Plug the power cord back into the electrical outlet. NOTE: If the television is plugged into a power strip or surge protector, remove it from the power strip or surge protector and plug it directly into the wall outlet. If the issue is resolved, the problem is with the power strip or surge protector and not the television.
  4. Turn on the television.
