what car, what year,? what model (wrangler?) im clueless
bulbs get weak with age
the glass in bulb (looks like silver paint)
this is normal for extreme usage.
replace the bulbs if dim. both.
if the car has covers in front of bulbs (not my 02 wrangler)
but newer cars have this crappy plastic in front,
it can be cloudy, there is a nice kit that fixes it (labor) at walfart. ask.
dim lites?
1 dim bulbs
2 cloudy lenses.
3: bad wire, bad grounds and bad connectors to lamps.
4: wiring hacked by kids wanting HID bs.
5: wrong bulbs, kids again.
6: corroded fuses, (12v at lamp do you have)?
7: bad combo switch or its ground is bad.
if you have 12volts across the dim lamp, you can skip 3 to 7 fails.
see your FSM for how they work. and wiring.
does your car have DRL? daylight running light option or in CANADA?
that be more heart ache.
and my jeep the highs and lows are never on at the same time.
the combo switch selects one or the other.
what it does in flash mode, not sure. need car year. and name.
Be sure there is power is coming from wall outlet and be sure breaker hasn't tripped. Also if there is a loose connection where cord was installed to unit, there may be a burnt wire.
OK everyone, my ears are red. Over the weekend, I gave this another shot, since my warranty repair appointment isn't until next week.
I opened the dryer door (the drum light is off, indicating no power at all) and went to the circuit breaker box, and flipped the washer/dryer breaker back to off and then re-set the breaker again.
When I got to the laundry room - the drum light was on!
So I powered up the unit, and ran the machine. It ran for about one minute, and then went off. So I went back and re-set the breaker again.
Visually, the breakers did NOT LOOK tripped - but flipping the thing off and then on to re-set the breaker worked.
This time, the dryer is working fine. The bad part is: I need to replace the breaker for the second time. So this is NOT a defective dryer, it is a bad electrical supply. I will call the electrician back to make him fix this right. . . . .
Thanks again for all who responded. This is a new unit, purchased on 7/7/2009.
The lights flashing sound be the ASD relay going bad. Its the Main power relay located in the fuse block under the hood. If the AC is not working you may have a leak that was'nt detected. You need to have it diagnosed.
I ended up trying the machine on a few different cycles all of which failed to complete. Finally tried a 'Drying' only cycle and it emptied out quite alot of water which was odd. It now seems fine. guessing it was a blockage and a certain amount of water was backed up in the machine??? any clarity welcome.
My friend got somebody in to fix it in the end.
It actually did turn out to be a problem with the door switch. I don't think it was able to lock it's self properly even though the light was on. (Don't know the exact details though). Think they guy just played with the lock to sort it out rather than getting a new part.
I noticed when I played with it that if you got the door open, pulled out the plug and switched it back on again it would make a clicking noise for a while as if it was trying to shut it's self if this is any help?
Mark.
