I try to turn on my ps3 system and instead of turning on it beeps and turns off. It then starts blinking a red light and won't stop until i touch the power button. once i touch the power button it goes on stanby mode. I try to turn it on again and it does the same thing over again. Its been like that eversince. my system is far away from the tv as possible, and its in a open area were heat doesn't built up. someone please help me!!!!!!!! I haven't played my ps3 for over a week long?

Fiancee had this problem and he replaced the hdmi cord with another one and it booted up.
I have the same problem! but the difference is mine will sometimes stay on for a while then it'll freeze up and all these lines show up on my tv!! i havent played in 2 dayz help :(
1) Wipe away any dust from the fan area, also blow strongly around that are to remove any dust out of reach.
2)Switch it on at the back.
3) Touch the POWER touch key on the front of the console (near disc slot)
4) Keep doing this until the system beeps, the console should then turn on.
If problem persists:
1) Remove disc from slot before turning on system(turn on to remove disc)
2) Remove Memory Cards, USB Cables(or unplug items connected via USB Cables)
3) Put standing on its side.
4) Try to remove dust from console.
5) Unplug from mains and restart as above.
If the

at you then you have over heated the system. The GPU chip has probly pulled
itself away from the board. This will require you to diassemble the PS3...

Got the same problem. Have you found a fix? I've searched online- remove the hard drive, cool the system, etc. but have they really worked? any solutions?
Got the same problem with my PS3 today ... mIne turns the green light on for about 1 second, sound slike it's spinning up a fan inside, beeps 3 times and then everything switches off apart from the red light.
Am at 11.5 months into the warranty so hoping that Sony will respond quickly.

My ps3 power light turns green for a second then turns red and starts blinking. It hasn't came on for almost a month and I need help "for free".
I have the 1st generation 60gig model with same problem. Not only that my beloved COD4 disk is stuck inside.....
whenever i go to turn on my ps3, the light will turn green, then yellow, and then beep like three times and then turn off. the red "off" light won't stop blinking till i touch it
