I have a PB-500H ECHO leaf blower that is about 4 1/2 years old. It has been running great and always starts on the first or second pull. It ran out of gas and I thought I put a mixture of has and o

Thank you for the responses. The blower was at Home Depot getting diagnosed and taking too long so I was going to do it myself. When I called to get the blower back, the tech went ahead and did the troubleshooting. He cleaned the carb and was able to start the blower and keep it running until the ran it at full speed, then it would quit. He said it would not develop full compression. Does someone know what would cause the low compression? And thanks again for all the responses and help.

The tech at Home Depot said the blower would need to be sent to Echo to be fixed. I went ahead and picked it up to see if it would work for me. I put the blower nozzle back on and it seemed to work. I was blowing a very dusty area and it started to quit and would start, then quit and not start back. I decided to take the air filter off and try to start it. It started up then and ran just fine. I put it on full speed and put the air filter back on and it continued running. I am going to get a new air filter and hope that fixes it. My faith in the Home Depot technicians is not very high. Thanks everyone for your help and comments - they sent me in the right direction.

The only things I know that cause low compression is poor piston rings or a worn out or scored cylinder

SOURCE: echo gas leaf blower bog down

Likely dirt in high speed needle valve(H); could be leaky fuel line(air leaking in), plugged fuel filter, pinched fuel line, etc - anything restricting flow of fuel. Likely, you aggravated an existing problem by cleaning the air filter which would have been providing some choke effect if it were partially plugged.

No power with Echo PB-755st Leaf blower

Try pulling the air filter off and see if it picks up. Also a minor carb adjustment may help. Also make sure your fuel isnt old or watered up. See if you can find alcohol free gas in your area. It may cost a bit more but it saves on repairs!

My Echo Leaf Blower (PB-251) will not run at high speed. It is running to rich. Help please. Charlie

I've been fighting with an Echo PB-251 blower and an Echo SRM-225 string trimmer since near the end of last lawn season (this is the forth season I've had them). Along comes a thread on a firearms forum and lo and behold the answer to the problem is spelled out in terms even I can understand.

After reading that thread (which attributes the problem of the engine bogging down when throttle is activated to collapsing fuel lines) I was going to just replace the fuel lines, but I discovered that there are kits that include new fuel lines, rubber grommets, filters, clips and cap seals for about $13.00 each. Hell, the kit for the SRM-225 even provided a new primer bulb. Ten minutes after the UPS truck delivered them to my door I had both machines running like new again. If you've tried other things and it still hasn't worked I highly suggest you try this.

I have a Echo PB 2601 made a loud bang then stoped working.

Sounds like it has seized up. If the pull cord won't pull then the motor is locked up. Did you run gas/oil mix for the fuel its a 2 cycle motor...
