1975 dodge sportsman rv ignition tumbler removal and replacement

To replace the ignition tumbler in a 1975 Dodge Sportsman RV, you will need to follow these steps:
  1. Remove the steering column cover: Start by removing the screws or bolts that hold the steering column cover in place. Once the cover is removed, you should be able to access the ignition switch and tumbler.
  2. Disconnect the electrical connections: There should be two electrical connections that attach to the ignition switch. Disconnect these before attempting to remove the tumbler.
  3. Remove the retaining screw: Use a screwdriver to remove the retaining screw that holds the tumbler in place.
  4. Remove the tumbler: After removing the screw, the tumbler should slide out of the ignition switch.
  5. Install the new tumbler: Insert the new tumbler into the ignition switch, making sure it is securely in place.
  6. Reinstall the retaining screw: Use the screwdriver to reinstall the retaining screw.
  7. Reconnect the electrical connections: Reconnect the two electrical connections that you disconnected in step 2.
  8. Replace the steering column cover: Once everything is back in place, replace the steering column cover and secure it with the screws or bolts.
  9. Test the new tumbler: Finally, test the new tumbler to make sure it is working properly and that the RV starts and runs smoothly.

How do you switch out the tumbler in a key switch on a 87 Jeep Wrangler?

unfortunately without the key you cannot replace the tumbler without drilling. this damages the whole assemblywhich means that you do you have to replace the ignition key cylinder the procedure is to drill into the ignition key hole about an inch and a half with a 5/8 drill bit . make sure you drillr straight hole in the path of the key.after you drill the holethe whole cylinder will rotate and come outallowing you to replace it not sure if you can buy tumblers by themselves comes with the whole ignition cylinder with the tumblers inside of it

How do you take out a radio on a 96' century buick?

this is a easy part to replace,, if the tumbler still works and you can start the car ,,, put the key in the tumbler and start the car up ,, this is the position ware the tumbler is ready to come out ,,,, if you look on the bottom steering column bezel there is an access hole in the plastic panel ,, use a pick , or something like a pick to insert it into the hole and push up ,, this will release the lock tumbler pin and you can wiggle the hole key and tumbler out of the steering column ,,,,,see below

zjlimited_166.gif
then put the new tumbler in the same position and depress its pin ,, slide it in the hole and shut the car off ,, this will force the pin out and the tumbler is now in place ..

Good luck.

I have a hole in the disk spinner? It is golf ball size. Where can I get a replacement part and do you know the part number? Can I use the washer as is until I get the replacement part?

I assume your machine is a FAV6800A or FAV9800A and we are talking about the tumbler or Wash Plate as it is also called of those machines.

There is Left and Right version of the tumblers. You will have to remove the tumbler (see page 37 of the Service Manual for Tumbler Removal) and see if you can ID if it’s a left or right side tumbler.

You will need a Torx #20 driver to remove the Service Manual doesn’t call that out. Then you can ID which tumbler needs to be replaced. The left and right side markings are on the inside of the Tumbler/Wash Plate.

The Service Manual for reference. Sears Parts Direct for reference.

I would check Ebay you can take a look at a site like Sears Parts Direct in the above link also for a replacement.

The p/n’s that I found at searspartsdirect.com = 12002203 I believe is the Right Side and 12002204 Left Side but make sure you check the marking as to R or L as the Service Manual indicates. Also check with the parts supplier for proper replacement p/n.

“”Can I use the washer as is until I get the replacement part?”” I would be concerned about damage to the wash load if part of the wash load gets snagged on the edges of the hole.

Any idea how that happned?.........Rich

Oldsmobile 2001 intrigue Ignition main the key will not turn

Possible fix for the year of car is a worn key or tumbler or both. Check with Olds with your car vin number to cut a new key. If it's the tumbler, it will have to be re-pinned with new pins by locksmith or replaced with new tumbler. Rare occasions the turning of steering wheel frees the steering locks pressure hold on ignition tumbler. New tumbler can be reset to match door so as not to have two different keys.
