Hello,
I have a 20 inch flat screen polaird tv it was purchased a few months ago. I have a pretty blue screen with sound. When I push the menu button the images for setting the tv comes up nicely.
I know this is a common thing for this tv because I have purchased some before ( for patients ) and someone has figured out how to get the picture back.
I have no idea where the booklet is on this tv (maybe in my office but that is a losing battle to find it).
I have the same problem, blue screen with sound .. sound works sometimes, plug the video in every way, cable, svideo, componet .. i left it off for 2 weeks then tried and it worked for about 1 month now the same as before blue screen w/soundI have the same problem, blue screen with sound .. sound works sometimes, plug the video in every way, cable, svideo, componet .. i left it off for 2 weeks then tried and it worked for about 1 month now the same as before blue screen w/sound
I've tried many different things to isolate the problem, the only solution is to manually reset it to factory settings via menu button. If something goes wrong, like the menu button freezes turn off the monitor *Or unplug it, and retry to reset factory settings. Unfortunately you have to do this almost every single time you turn off/on the television.

Blue screen means either no signal (if unit has rear connections hook a DVD etc to one and go to that input and see if it works) Or the blue may mean set is in shutdown----5 months old and it should still have a warranty?
The T-CON (Timing Control) board on the panel is/has failed. If it is available, it can be replaced. If not, the entire panel will need to be replaced to correct the TV.
With seeing the picture it will be hard fro me to tell what..I am going to guess according to the information you've provided. It could a buffer or a signal board(s). This TV is only 4 Months old I would call LG and file a warranty claim. LG (800) 243-0000
I bought a Trutech 20 inch Flat Screen TV about a week ago. All of a sudden the picture has reduced to about 15 inches, on some channels. Also the picture breaks up a little every time I run a DVD.
I had the same problem w/ the same TV about 6 months ago. You need a new optical engine. Hopefully you are still under warranty. Once that was replaced, the tv looks great.
Check with the manufacturer, this sounds like a problem with decoding, or maybe the screen driver. as this is 10 months old it should still be within Manufacturer's warranty and they should sort it out for free :)
