Hi all...!!! Power failed and came back minutes later. Can't start HP Media Center M7060n Green light on back flashes slow when power not connected, slower when power cord connected but I press the ON button and nothing happens...help...!!!

    Thanks...I have tried a few things regarding the flashing light and I think it's the power supply. I will replace it and see...

Your hardrive has been corrupted due to the power failure.also it may have surged when power was reinstated .unless u have surge protection. if u didnt you may have burned power supply or mother board.

On HP computers, I believe that this means that the power supply or the motherboard is bad. I assume that the outage was due to the thunderstorm and you may have received a surge. In your manual, there should be diagnostic light codes where they will outline the exact meaning. Again, to the best of my knowledge, this means that there is a bad power supply or a motherboard.

    a bad harddrive would still allow the system to post, so try the power supply first.

just open ur pc case replace the ram and all connections for 5 to 10 min clean dust inside pc and also clean ram and put back in to pc and restart i hope ur comp will be right back to normal!

Question about the flashing green light on hp pc
Your best bet is to get a new power supply put in because then your not wasting a lot of money on getting the computer serviced every time it happens. So what I think you should do is get a new power supply because it's not only the cheapest route but also the best route to go right now. If the CPU board continues malfunctioning after you install the new power supply then that right there is showing that you need a new CPU board.

Hp media center power
hi friends, unpluug the power chord from the wall jack after that press and hold the power button in the front for about 15 seconds, connect the chord back in and try it. if it does the same then look at the rear side of the cpu box (where the power chord goes in and look for a small fan inside the power supply box, it has to be spinning). if not then the power supply (smps) has goen bad. now if the fan is sipnning try disconnecting all the extra periferals eg printer and stuff, still nogo then try opening the cpu box (reffer owners manual). take the RAM out and try to power up the system, if it starts beeping like beep ...beep... peeeep... then turn it off put the ram sticks back in and it should work fine...

OK FIRST A POWER SURGE PROTECTOR WILL ONLY PROTECT YOU 7 % OF THE TIME, WHICH YOU JUST REALIZED. SO YOU NEED TO BUY A BATTERY BACKUP ALSO KNOWN AS A UPS.... I CANNOT STRESS THIS ENOUGH. BRING YOUR PC TO BEST BUY AND THEY WILL TEST YOUR POWER SUPPLY, IF IT TESTS OUT OK THEN YOU BLEW SOMETHING IN YOUR MOTHERBOARD. GET A BATTERY BACKUPS/UPS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
