Maytag front load washer leaking water from detergent dispenser

3 year old machine just started today. I cleaned the tray of caked on detergent, machine is level, turned the water valve down a little, cleaned the upper water holes with a tooth brush, water still flows out the front when machine goes into wash cycle. I noticed when I pulled  the tray out there is a drain that runs the water into the drum, could this be starting to stop up. Feels like there is a plastic sleeve in there. If this needs to be cleaned how do you get to it and is the other end connected to anything?

I have a whirlpool duet sport and it was leaking from the detergent despencer. Since the dryer sitting on top of the washer I didnt want to take the top off. I took the control panel off then took the front panel loose and let it hang a by the seal. I could then see the tube going from the detergent despencer to the tub. I unclamped the hose and wiggled it out of the lower hole. I found a sock in the tube. I removed the obstruction and reassembled the washer. Works fine, PS this advice is free other jackholes want 30 bucks. Have a great day and good luck you can do it!

The other end of the dispenser to outer drum hose only connects to the outer drum and if you remove the top cover of the machine, you will see it clearly. You can unclamp the hose from the bottom of the dispenser and feel inside the hose for any obstruction. Do not remove the hose from the outer drum. Pour some hot water down the hose and squeeze the hose from top to bottom to remove build up of detergent and softener on the inside walls of the hose.

Water pouring out of the detergent drawer

Remove the dispenser draw and pour water down the soap chute as much as you can to soften any soap causing the blockage. When the water level drops, add more water. After a while use a soft flexible rubber hose and run it down the chute up and down to remove caked soap. Once this has been achieved, run the machine on "Rinse & Spin" to clean out the drum.

Liquid detergent doesn't dispense

There is a valve that releases water into the detergent tray when the washer is started. The water hose for that may be cracked, loose or the valve for that might not be working.

XP7240 not draining properly

Replace that pressure valve and also inspect it for leaks from directly under the boiler, from that pressure valve and from the top of the hydraulic ram. If when you buy your valve you find the white housing will not fit where the old one came from you can just use the piston into your old housing. Check this before removing the hose clip from your old piston housing. If your old piston housing is leaking badly before you even do this job then you will need to replace the whole distributor as sometimes a piston housing retaining lug can fracture, there are 3 of them and they are part of the distributor.

Oe error code, cleaned filter, checked hose

You might be using too much detergent and causing a sudslock condition. The machine uses very little water and any amount over a teaspoon of HE will simply cause the machine to lock down. An OE error means it took longer than 10 minutes to drain the tub. IF the machine is trying to correct a sud problem it will continually toss in more water till sudslock is corrected. Press and hold: SPIN SPEED & SOIL LEVEL buttons--then press POWER button.
Wait for door to lock.

Press the START button (6) times--this will fill the tub with hot water to the maximum setting when it stops filling.

Press the START button two more times--this will enable the tub to tumble.
After 3 hours--turn "off" the washer.
Turn the washer back "on".
Select the shortest wash cycle (usually "quick wash") and press "START". This will rinse out the tub.
This method of "TUB CLEAN" is *not* from a service manual but has been the best method for cleaning out LG washers more than a year into incorrect detergent usage.

OLDFIXER was exactly right ! I had water gushing out of my LIQUID detergent tray. I removed the tray by pushing down on the flexible tab at the back of the tray and when I had the tray out I discovered A LARGE AMOUNT OF DAMP powder detergent caked up on the inside. I removed it all and sprayed some hot water inside AND ITS COMPLETELY FIXED !!! GOD BLESS OLD FIXER.
