Not able to sync my LG Dare

When I plug my phone into the usb, my driver software tells me that the usb device is ready to use but the phone is unplugged. I've tried to find and download drivers for the phone but have had no success. When I hit sync on my phone, it tells me I have a connect failure and that I should check the cable connection but the connection is fine. I was able to sync my boyfriends phone, which is also an LG but not a Dare.

SOURCE: MTP Device Searching Preconfigured Driver Folders

I was having this problem as well, but solved it.
I, like others decided to just buy a USB cable for my VX9900 and use Windows Media Player for sync'ing. (I also have the Verizon Essentials program that I downloaded, but I like WMP better. No particular reason).
I was getting the installation messages and as soon as the MTP message came up, I got the "problem" message and it didn't sync.
What I did when I got the cable was to run the CD drivers that came with my cable. That may have been my mistake. I was bothered that the date of my driver was in 2005 since the phone came out late in 2006. So I looked at the name of the driver and it was something like C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\LGUSBDriver.xxx whatever... I went to my device manager and uninstalled the driver. I went to the C:\Program Files\ and deleted the LG USBDrivers folder. I went to the Windows/system32/drivers folder and there were three LG*.* files I deleted them. The next time I plugged the phone in and set it to sync, it worked. It's late and night and I may not have typed this really clearly, so feel free to contact me at bill (at) halfamind.com (because a half a mind is still a terrible thing to waste).

SOURCE: My compter does not regonize my LG Dare or Sd

In order for the phone to work with ur pc u have to set/change the connectivity.

Go into Phone settings, then Connectivity, then USB Connection Mode, then select either Mass storage or Data Service, to use Mass Storage you must have a Memory card inserted into the phone, then you can select mass storage and use your phone as an external hard drive/memory stick. In this mode u can only transfer pics, music, videos etc from pc to phone and vice versa via your Computer Windows Explorer.
It will not enable you to use the LG PC suite Application. To use the LG PC suite, you must select Data Service, then connect your phone to the PC via a USB port.

Lg dare

Your power cord that came with your phone is also a USB cord. This can be plugged directly into your computer. Once plugged in your computer will automatically download the pre-installed software and you can then access your photos from your computer.

I have a LG dare cell phone and want to transfer some pictures to my Laptop. Lap top is running windows vista 64 bit. when I connect the usb the pc does not recognize the usb connection. It recognizes all...

Well, for music...
Install the supplied software for your Dare on your computer.
In "My Music" select "Sync".
You can now see your Dare as a USB device but only music is accessible. :{

For photos the easiest way is to use a micro SD card and a card reader.
Store or move photos from your internal memory on your Dare to the micro SD card.
Transfer the micro SD card to your computer with either a built in card reader or a USB card reader.

The next alternative is to use a program like BitPim which can be a little tricky and can delete or copy all of your personal data (images, tones, contacts, etc...) depending on which button you press. The two buttons look very similar. Great way to download free ring tones and upload to your phone for free.

I cant transfer music or anything from my pc to my phone

Install the provided LG Dare software on your computer.
Using your USB cord, connect the phone to the computer.
Open windows Media Player.
Media Player should see your phone.
In the sync screen, drag music from your library to the sync column and then select sync.
This will copy the selected music to your phone.

Photos are easiest with a micro SD card, otherwise, you need software like BitPim.
Transfer photos to and from the micro SD card and the insert in your phone.
