How to install cartridge for HP Photosmart C4180 all-in-one

If the ink is a refill by you the printer will not recognize. If new replacement cartridges, it should be ok. After ink change, do a clean and allignment for clearer result.

Just try to remove and reinsert the cartridges. You might also wanna clean the printheads with a damp lint free cloth. And See what happens.

Pick up the printer. Carry it outside. Lift the lid on your trash can. Gently place printer in trash can. Close lid. Wait until garbage day. Open trash can lid........problem solved. Reminder.. never buy HP again.

Printer keeps trying to perform an alignment after installing a new black ink cartridge fix:

1. Unplug USB
2. Turn printer off
3. Wait 10 seconds
4. Remove paper from paper tray so printer has no paper to print on
5. Turn printer on
6. Printer messages to insert paper in paper tray
7. Press and hold “Setup” and “ Cancel” buttons and press “OK”
8. Should be good until next black ink cartridge change.

Firstly ensure you have the relevant replacement cartridges.
Then turn on the printer.
Open the flap at the front of the printer.

The cartridges in the printer should move to the right hand side and stop (after a while). You will now have access to replace them. Take each cartridge in turn
pull it down - the cartridge should become loose -
then pull it to remove it.
Then to install the new cartridge put it in the same slot;
then push it up- it should click into place.
Repeat for the desired number of cartridges.
