The nav discs come in a set of two. Disc 1 and Disc 2. Insert disc 1 first, if unit does not respond or read nav disc, then you may have a bad copy of the nav disc or incorrect copy.

How do I set the clock?

To set the clock turn the unit on and hit the big blue nav/menu button on the tv , then touch settings on the screen , and then touch the time button . You should be able to figure it out from there . When done touch the back button . Or disconnect the power from the brain unit for a couple seconds then plug back in turn the head unit on and insert the map disc that comes with the stereo it will automaticlly run you through the clock setup

You need to get an up to date navi disc. There is a procedure to down grade it, so it would read the yellow disc. But it will mess up the unit if you do it wrong. Beside half of the current info won't be on the yellow disc anyway, because it is so out dated. Goodluck.

Do you have the right navi disc. Because once you upgrade to newer version then when you put in an older version it will tell you to insert the appropriate disc. You need to downgrade it if you want to go back to older versions. Let me know if you need help on how to downgrade. Goodluck.

My AVIC 9 sat nav unit will not read the discs keeps showing message please insert appropriate disc, still plays other cd and dvd ok

Assuming you have the original navi disc, then your laser eye is either dirty or tired(out of alightment) from playing mp3 or copied disc. Buy a cd lens cleaner kit if that doesn't help then have someone who know how and have it re-align. Goodluck.

AVIC-N1 "disc read error"

The laser eye need to be re-align or clean up. If you are technical incline, then open it up and clean the laser eye and turn the mounting allen wrench nuts up a bit. If not have someone who knows do it. 'Cause there are alot of things can pop out of place when you opened it. Goodluck.
