Well, more details are needed here. But to start, uninstall any scaning software you got. Then install the Software package from the HP website. Then try again using this software and be sure to follow the step by step installation on the screen. If you have photoshop installed or some smiliar software, you could try to use the Acquire/Import from TWAIN option... should be in the file menu somewhere. This will try to import your scan in photoshop or your software directly. If it's still not working, give us more information about what happens, what you did to solve your problem so far.

you will find scanpst file in following location
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office12

Double click on that fine > Browse to
C:\Documents and Settings\Computer User name \Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook

Make sure you close outloook when you run a scan

use the windows 2000 professional cd to install the windows again, you can install it to another folder so you get to keep your files if you decide to do it this way, ones your computer is working again, make sure you delete the downloaded file, if you start the file again, the one with the virus, you will have todo this all over again.
