Thanks for the link ! But I have entered correct IP Address,Subnet Mask, Default Gateway and primary & secondary DNS nos from my Netopia router info. It will check for the IP address and tell me it was successful ! but then the connection fails every time due to a DNS Error 80710102 . How frustrating !

Hi, change your DNS settings in your PS3 to :

  • This is "OpenDNS" settings which wont conflict with Sony's servers. I found this helpful info from a website and my PS3 works fine now. Its because your ISP's DNS clashed with Sonys Servers.

      • 1 Refresh the page that failed to load. If the page reloads, you just had a momentary lapse in service that happens with most providers. Between each following step, try refreshing the page to see if the problem is resolved.
      • 2 Check the page address you typed into the address bar to make sure it is spelled right. An error in the URL address could cause this error message.

      • 3 Go to your connection settings and make sure the settings match those of your Internet serviceicon1.png provider or local area network. Do this by clicking on Tools on the toolbar, then Internet Options. Under the Connections tab, click Settings.
      • 4 Click the "Detect Network Settings" link on the Interneticon1.png Explorer page accompanying the error message to let Windows try and find an optimum connection.
      • 5 Download DNS error fix softwareicon1.png off the Internet if no other option works (see Resources). The software is free on some websites and should be able to identify the problem and correct it.

    Eror 105 wifi

Error 105 is one of the most commonly faced errors by a lot of users everyday who are using Google chrome
Error 105 is a DNS resolution error. - Which means when you enter the URL of the website and hit enter in Google chrome, it tries to resolve the IP address of the website using a protocol called DNS (Domain Name System). If chrome is unable to reach the DNS server, the name resolution fails and you get the error 105.
Once you have verified from your internet service provider that there is no problem on their end, follow the step by step instructions below.
We are simply going to add a manual DNS address in Windows so that chrome is able to resolve DNS queries.
    1) Press [Windows Key + R] to open the "RUN Dialog"
Alternatively, you can also click on the start menu, type run in the search bar, and you will have the RUN Program.
Once you have the RUN box, type in ncpa.cpl and click OK - This would work for all Windows operating systems including Windows Xp, Vista and 7.
    2) Next, Choose the correct network adapter (from the icons)
If you are connecting to the internet using an Ethernet cable, then most likely you are using a desktop computer. Right-Click "Local Area Connection" and click "Properties"
If you are connecting to the internet using a Wi-Fi Connection, then Right-Click on "Wireless Network Connection" and click properties
    3) After you open the properties window, select "Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)" and click "Properties"
    4) Usually you would be having both the options set to "Automatic"
In the section below, select the "Use the following DNS Server Addresses" and enter the following values Preferred DNS Server -
    Alternate DNS Server -
and click "OK", then click "CLOSE"
You must now test your new configuration by browsing a website - you can also try and browse the website you were trying to get to when you got the error 105.

Samsung corby 2 (s3850) wifi connection. It can't connect to the wifi. It always end up DNS failed.

Verify that you have the correct security protocol and password. Are you sure the router has a good connection to the Internet service provider? If it doesn't, you'll get a DNS failed message on every device connected to the router.

the DNS should be informed by your internet service, but most times the system recognises the DNS by looking for it on the router .

it's happening to you because the IP is got from the router (and it'll be always correct), but the DNS ,that allows you to connect to your internet service must not be correct .

try using the default automatic settings when asked, the ps3 system will try to find the DNS and everything else necessary for your internet connection .

Can't connect to the internet, DNS failed what is this connection and how do i over come it.

When the DNS fails, it is a problem on your internet service provider's end. You should try to see if you can still access the internet, if not than contact your ISP.
