Zud - print error - under temperature

I have the same problem - is it because the thermal printer needs heat to print the label and it needs to warm up??

Try using the latest zebra printer driver. The ZUD driver has been superceded by the latest Zdesigner driver which works in Zebra Designer and any windows application

Zebra printing out blank labels.

Thermal printers need to get hot to heat the special paper, which when heated prints an image.

Click here for a more detail explanation.

Usually the thermal head dies, it can be repaired, claim warranty support.
Check if your thermal printer is getting hot, if not then confirms above.

Take care!

Locate your printer driver under devices and printers Right click on it and select "Printing Preferences"

Choose the "Advanced Setup" tab

Change media type to "Direct Thermal"

Be sure that "use printer settings" is NOT selected at the top left

Click OK and you should be good.

Note that any labels created prior to this change will need to be changed inside each label under the label setup.

Compatibility with all printers

Thermal labels are meant for thermal printers. Thermal printers are unique because they don't use ink but instead turn black if exposed to heat or you scratch it or something. The printer uses tiny heating elements that turn on for an instant when the paper is passing to heat it, making a tiny spot of it turn black, printing a pixel. A laser printer would turn the label completely black because it heats the paper to melt the toner on, and an inkjet printer would print fine on it if you could get it to use the awkward size of the label stock, but it may apply pressure or scratch the paper somewhere in the machnism and create black marks on the paper.

An extra, blank label prints from a Zebra 2746e.

Check media settings in the printer driver. Check version of printer driver. Zebra printersuse an internal printer driver with their Zebra Designer software (Zdesigner driver) or a ZUD (Zebra Universal Driver) for other windows applications. These drivers can be downloaded directly from the zebra website.

Alternatively you can download the seagull scientific driver and use that instead. (used with bartender program)

Label skipping occurs if the media dimensions are not specified correctly. The important ones are label height, and media setting for type of media.

Perform a media calibration before you go changing settings. Power on printer, Hold top and bottom buttons in on control panel for 5 seconds, release bottom button only then when printer starts feeding labels release top button. When printer finishes press feed button.
