1. Open the hood and remove the screws holding the headlight assembly in place. These screws are located on the back side of the headlight assembly.
2. Slide the headlight assembly forward.
3. Unplug the electrical connector running to the headlight ballast.
4. Slide the new headlight assembly and bulb into place, connect the connector to the headlight ballast and secure the assembly with the factory screws.
First of all, remove the tray (use the emergency tray removal in the center hub of the projector). BE CAREFUL not to spill your slides, so before you remove the tray, make sure the tray ring is in position & tight, then when you remove the tray turn it upside down immediately and move the tray plate to the "zero" position. Remove any slides that might be in the gate of the projector. Turn the projector on and cycle the projector 2 or 3 times in Reverse. This should clear a tray/slide jam. Good Luck !!
These projectors were designed & made by Telex for Kodak. If the screen stays black when you push a slide down into the "gate" (in either viewer or projector mode), then the trip mechanism that opens the shutters when a slide is detected has a problem. It could be an adjustment, a broken or out of position spring or hardened lubrication. There is no good way to proceed unless you are trained in the service of these projectors. Contact a factory-trained repair dealer. Happy New Year!

You have jammed the slide change mechanism. Turn the projector off. Remove the tray using the emergency release slot in the center hub of the projector. Turn the projector on and cycle it a few times in reverse, then in forward. That usually clears a mechanism jam.
