Makesvery little ice

Make sure you pull the ice cubes periodically from the back of the ice tray to the front. If the back of the tray is piled past a certain point the unit will think the ice tray is full and stop ice production. This was a design flaw most samsungs. Hope this helps _MJ_

Ice maker will not stop, even when the tray is full of cubes.. will only stop if arm is put up..

The ice tray arm is mechanical. It is pushed up by the ice cubes. Try bending the arm down so it makes contact with the ice cubes sooner and gets pushed up sooner when it reaches up posistion it should stop.

Ice maker on GE Profile quit working. Emptied tray of ice and put back in, not producing any ice.

Make sure the "Full" actuator is in the down position. Sometimes when the ice tray is removed, the full actuator flips up to stop ice production.
Hope this helps.

Ice maker not working

Depending on the ice maker style, they typically work off a motor timer. The timer motor rotates to set up the ice making process... starting with letting water into an empty ice mold tray, allowing ample time for that water to freeze and then to rotate that mold so that the cubes fall out into the bin. In conjunction with that process, a small heater is turned on to release the frozen cubes from the tray. The 'ice tray full' lever signals the system to stop making ice so you may want to verify that the lever is down and not causing the ice maker to stop, If that's down then I suggest you monitor the position of the motor gearset underneath an access cover. With power applied, the gears should rotate and cycle thru an ice making process. If it does and ice fails to fall out, your heater may be defective. Hope that helps...

My Ref.wount make ice

I have a friend who has a kenmore coldspot Model# 7028999 Serial # EJ5040321 and it won't make ice there is water to the coldspot from the angle stop. A new pump was acquired and installled, but no water reaches the ice cube tray area. When ewater is poured into the ice cube tray area by hand, the ice cubes are made and the machine dumps them into the ice holder. What is the reason for no water from the angle stop to the ice tray? could there be an electric switch in addition to the pump device? Bob 512-762-4585
