Tv volume turns itself Up as well as Down and also changes channels

My T.V. Turns itself up when we turn it on, I changed the batteries in the remote and still had this issue, I then tried to turn the volume down via the button down the right hand side of the T.V. (if you are looking at the screen)and this changed the channel even though I was pushing the Volume Down Button. The T.V. also turns itself down all on it's own, we can watch DVD's with out any of these problems occurring but once we go back to T.V. mode it happens again. This is very aggravating not to mention noisy for my neighbours and sister living upstairs from me. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Wendy

SOURCE: Speaker Noise when volume turned down LTN226W Samsung

this is due to leakages in your internal circuit... this generally happens due to aging... the part which has suffered damage has to be found and replaced... but this part can be identified only physically testing the voltages and currents on the internal circuit...

SOURCE: cox universal remote won't control samsung tv ln52a650 volume

This is a tough one, I can come up with possibly 2 solutions, 1 being that if the batteries are low you will sometimes lose partial control of some of the functions on the remote, and if that is not it, then I have another that this one happened to me once, The infrared on the TV was not picking up the volume button I was sitting at an angle, so everytime i sit in that chair everything works but the voulume control i have to point it right at it on direct line and not from the side...Hope this helps...Steve

My Samsung PN50C450B1D plasma TV doesn't respond when touching the Menu, Volume or Channel buttons on the TV itself.

Chances are you have a stuck button on the button cluster, what I'd do is remove the connector going to it and use the remote control, with a stuck button the remote won't function properly.

I have a tv that turns off if I try to change the volume.,it restarts by itself 5 minutes later. It happens from either of 2 remotes and the volume button on the tv. Any idea what I should replace?

power fault the drain on changing channel which is around 3 volts is draining the tv a weak capacitor is probably the problem. to add to if you turn the volume up it will probably jump up and down on sound.

Can not turn off and volume turns down by it self changed batteries in remote

Need more info to assist you with the issue. Does the tv work except the volume turns down by itself even with the batteries removed from the remote? If so its either the Tact switch for the vol down has an issue or the main board has an issue. If the remote wont work the tv properly either or not at all too then i would say the main board is causing both conditions. If you require further assistance please let me know.

Remote fall on floor and now it is stuck on one channel and I can not turn off the TV or change a channel or lower the volume

Hi, well you can do everything from the axtual TV itself, have a look on the TV you will find a setof buttons/keys. these allow you to controll almost everything that the remote can do.
here you can change channel change volume etc.
The buttons usually there are 6- 7 marked On/Off, Channel up/down, Volume Up/Down, Enter/OK & Menu. Now pressing these will bring up the onscreen display and you can adjust what you wish.
Now with the remote, it's probably best to obtain a new one..
Sometimes disassembly may fix it, but it sounds like it has a bad problem.
To ensure it doesn't interfere remove the batteries.

Why does my 26 insignia do the following without touching the remote: volume up and down, changes channels and menu screen pops up

It could well be your remote control has a problem. Try removing the batteries from the remote control and see if the problem goes away, if it does, try new bateries on the remote controller, if that does not work you may have to get a new remote controller

MENU SCREEN POPS UP, TV CHANGES CHANNELS, TURNS SOUND DOWN

Yes. Its probably a stuck button on the TV's front panel. Try pushing or wiggling each button on the panel. It could be the channel up/down buttons or volume up/down, menu, etc.

When there is a button that is making slight contact, it keeps the microprocessor busy attending to the command its erroneously receiving from the offending button and may not allow other functions to work when this occurs.

It doesn't matter which button is stuck, any of the symptoms you describe can happen.

TV Volume turns down by itself - Philips 29PT8319 Matchline 27"

Most likely the volume down button on the front of the TV or the switch that it activates is sticking. Should be an easy fix otherwise.
