Hello,
The trigger on the suds gun needs to be turned (to the left, I believe) to open up the sprayer. Also, make sure that the straw is firmly inserted into the hole in the bottom of the lid part. Hope this helps,
Marci

How do I hook up my Kirby Ultimate G for upholstery shampooing?

Hooking up the foaming device simply blows foam into the job. Here is a shortcut which I find more convenient on my G4 tools. If you have the rotary upholstery shampoo kit, you can just attach the rotary tool to your hose. Then mix your kirby suds into a household spray mist bottle. If you happen to have a mist bottle with a screen on the intake straw it will foam your suds not quite as well as the kirby device, but this way you can store the suds in the spray bottle for future quick use.
kirby suds are designed to be used as foam not liquid so a foamer in the spray bottle helps the process. You do not want to soak the furniture, just apply a light mist and scrub with the air driven shampoo tool on the hose. Then allow to dry and vacuum 24 hours later.

What parts go to a Kirby Shampooer?

There is a shampooer head with shampooer brushroll, water tank, small hose that hooks to the tank, collection tray

Need to use the Kirby shampoo. It goes down as wet suds but you pick up the suds with the vacuum when it drys. Fill tank adding 1 cap full of soap (kirby soap only) per level on the side, this attaches on the side where the bag is attached

After using the shampooer you need to reattach the vacuum bag and main brushroll nozzle as though you were just vacuuming up dirt.

Instructions:

Lift the front of your kirby up (front part with light) open the handle on the dail in the front (if epquipt), remove the power head, put on height adjustment on highest level, turn dial on front of power head until you see 2 red arrows facing each other, unlock by turning knob, power head should come right off, get shampooer out the power head for shampooer with collection tray, make sure dial is set red on red, put on front of Kirby and lock in, turn dial to green on green arrows, fill tank adding 1 cap full of soap (Kirby soap only) per level on the side, this attaches on the side where the bag is attached, line up arrow and notch and turn, to hook up hose put Kirby down to lowest level, notched end of hose hooks in on tray other end on the tank,on/off switch refers to the foam, Turn machine on to lay the foam & scrub carpet, take shampooer back off to extract the foam once it's dry.

Good luck.

Kirby paint sprayer attachment

HERE is the manual, just instead of shampoo use water-based paint and do nut put that nozzle on the sprayer. WASH IT WELL after you use it. Honestly - you better off buying a spray can. Painting with Kirby - MESSY. May sound strange from someone who makes living selling Kirby stuff but I just hate salespeople making it sound as if Kirby vacuum is ONLY appliance that you ever need to buy...

I have borrowed a kirby from my friend and i would like to wash my couches, please would you be so kind as to assist and let me know what tools i would need to use to be able to do so??

You need the upholstery attachment (it looks like a trigger sprayer with a plastic jar attached)You MUST have the foam screen that fits on the front of the trigger, without it,you will only get solution. The trigger sprayer fits on the end of the hose. The other end of the hose fits on the blower end of the machine. You must remove the bag,and attach the hose at this end.The trigger sprayer deposits the foam, and you work the foam in with a soft cloth or brush. When dry, switch the hose to the suction side, and vacuum out the foam. There is also an adapter (about the size of a styrofoam cup) that attaches to the front of the machine to allow it to be used when using the hose on the blower (bag) side.

How do I use the Kirby G6 shampoo attachment on upholstery?

Hi!
You need to take the power nozzle off and attach the thing that looks like a little plastic cup with two hooks on it. This is the intake guard. Attach it to the front. Now remove the cloth bag and put the hose on the hole where the bag was. You'll have to line the arrow on the hose up with the notch on the Kirby and push the hose arm toward the Kirby until it pops on. If you need to, lube up the edges of the hole with a wee bit of vaseline or hand lotion. This makes the hose engage easier. This makes the vacuum blow out to power the suds gun, which should be a part of your attachment set. I like to use half water and half Kirby shampoo in the jar. Place the nozzle on the sprayer for foam. Since you lost your manual, you may need belt change instructions as well. Here is a link to my online guide that will show you how....

I have a Kirby Ultimate G Series. I have misplaced (no, it's not lost...I have it somewhere) the manual. How do I use the upholstery attachment? Does it hook to the outlet on the shampoo tank?

There is a portable shampooer/sprayer that attaches to the hose ( the long one that makes the kirby a canister vacuum). It should have come with your attachments. Looks a bit like a gun without the tank attached to the bottom...the tank screws on.

To use it you would put the fingerguard attachment on the front of the kirby where the powerhead would normally go and the hose with the portable shampooer where the bag would go.

The tank on the portable sprayer/shampooer has lines to indicate how much water and shampoo are needed.

Be sure to put the mesh nozzle (sort of a triangular shaped thing with a piece of mesh along the front that attaches to the front of the portable sprayer) on the front of the portable sprayer if you want to shampoo..otherwise it will just spray a mist. The triangular piece with the mesh screen is what produces suds.

Vacuum the furniture/stairs thoroughly before shampooing. Cover the stairs/furniture with a thick coat of suds. Once covered with suds, pop the suds into the fabric/carpet using your hands...working the bubbles into any heavily soiled areas with a soft brush. No need to vacuum after shampooing. There is only about 10 percent water to 90 percent air in the suds.

Then let it dry. 15 minutes to and hour depending on the amount of solution used.

Hope this helps!!!
