Hitachi model 53SBX59B has no sound

It sounds like bad solder connections in the convergence output circuit. It may also be an intermittant convergence output ic which will need to be replaced.

This is a very common failure on Projection sets. Its called a convergence problem.

You may have one or more of the following symptoms.

• Screen looks 3D
• Colors don't line up
• One or more colors can't be adjusted when using the convergence menu.
• Screen is bowed or warped.
• No Audio / No Video - Makes Chirping Sounds

I had a problem last year and a repairman came in and re-soldered the connections on the electronic board. It has worked fine since.
