Can't join party of friend on HALO 3 while I have an OPEN NAT
It's pretty weird, one day my buddy and I were playing halo 3 online together in a party and then the next day all of a sudden it said this when I tried to join: "can't connect to xbox live party because of network settings, your NAT is open, which is the most flexible"
I have tried restarting everything, plugging everything out and in. I use UPnP mainly because I can't find my router on the portforwarding tutorials.
This is the only problem i am experiencing, I can play matchmaking with no problems at all but why can't I join my friend's party while my NAT is open and his NAT is moderate, we should be able to join.
Any help is helpfull :)

If you actually purchased only the ODST game you will not be able to play anybody in Halo 3 online. You will still actually need the Halo 3 disc to play multiplayer online.
Here's my best idea. Join a party on Xbox LIVE with a friend. This will let you communicate outside of Halo 3. If they can't hear you when you're in the party together, then it's your headset.
To have a friend join a party, go to your friends menu and select a friend. It will then give you the option to invite them into your party. Good luck!
if you have a restricted NAT then you will not be able to connect to others that have a strict or moderate NAT this happens to me. to find out if this is your problem you need to test your connection and it will come up with it on the analysis. to fix this you need to change your router setting via your PC to switch the NAT to open then it should work
your halo 3 disc is scratched. I can't see how big the scratch is but a minor scratch will allow you to play some campaign missions. My suggestion would be to borrow a friends halo 3 disc and install it to your hard drive. This solution would allow you & your friends to play campaign together
This problem is not uncommon, it is that your NATs are different, you can configure your internet settings, to do this, just look up on google how to configure your NAT.
