The top drawer of our F&P Dishdrawer won't open and there's no power, but bottom drawer is working. Top drawer had been making strange noises while running the night before.
The most logical explanation is the controller in top drawer has packed up or the power board located at the base of dishwasher housing (under bottom drawer) has partially packed up and stopped supplying power to the top drawer controller. But another explanation is that the thermal relay in the top drawer (located inside the heater element assembly has cut off. This stops power to the controller. This is the most expensive to fix as the entire heater element assembly has to be replaced as the thermal relay is not separately accessible. How you want to isolate the problem and fix it depends on how comfortable you are with fixing electrical and electronic systems. This is a very sofisticated dishwasher and a small mistake is irreversible. By the way you can open the drawer by forcing it open but keep in mind not to try to shut it firmly again until you restore the controller power. Otherwise the lid seal or actuator motors will be damaged. Whatever you do, make sure the mains power is turned off if you work on the dishwasher circuits.

Hi there, If you have no power to the top drawer and it is difficult to open it may be that your heater plate has blown and requires replacing. If it has no power and opens easily you may have the child lock on and need to hold the lock button down till the lock emblem disappears of the display screen on the front of the drawer. regards KAR-Ltd

The only thing you can do is push the plate back in place there are tabs in it and from time to time it works itself out. If the tabs are broken you should replace the plate. hope that helps
SOURCE: Water leaking from top dishdrawer
This is very rare in any dishwasher. I use to repair most all dishwahers. First check your door seal for any cracks, cuts or splits. The water inside is under great pressure and can push out from the top of the door if that is is weak, flat, or has anykind of cut or crack. If the leak indeed is coming from the top then you will need to get someone to help you pull out unit and check top for cracks or splits. This entire housing is plastic and may have come with crack. If your washer has a hose at the top, then check it good. While its out from under the counter run it and watch to see if you can tell where leak is coming from. I may have missed something. Remember, always unplug this from wall outlet or turn off breaker if you are indeed moving it in or out. Good luck.

If a Fisher & Paykel dishdrawer is having a problem, it will usually display a fault code beginning with a "U" or an "F". "U" codes are usually solvable by the owner by checking the definition in the owner's manual. "F" codes usually require a service technician. I can tell you from experience that if you have no idea what to do, you should leave this one to someone who does. It's very easy to cause more damage by trying to disassemble it incorrectly. Also, the DD603 utilizes a "smart tool" that enables a technician to use a laptop and F&P software to diagnose the problem correctly.

By no power you may be implying there is no display etc and the swithces are not working. Most likely the controller of the top drawer has had it. The controller is mounted on the front of the drawer behind the door panel. Hope things are better than that.
