There should be an area in the bios to change the boot order. In this you will want to put the usb as the first in the boot order.

SOURCE: HP G61 NOTEBOOK PC BIOS

It would seem that your BIOS has become corrupted somehow. First try entering your BIOS setup. I believe for HP computers when you press power tap the F10 key until it opens. There you can try to reset them in some fashion and save. Try rebooting. If that fails then remove the battery and repeatedly press the power button for about 10 seconds.. (make sure it is also unplugged, this is to discharge the power from the system) then replace the battery and try booting again. Otherwise it would seem that you might have tried to load the wrong BIOS into your laptop. Check with HP then if you are still covered or not. :/

I inherited an Asus UX50V with Linux installed and would like to restore it to Windows 7.

The restore disc should have Product ID Key and that is all you need. Any password is entered after the install IF you want it password protected.

Asus q200e boot problem

When you are in the BIOS see if the HDD is present. If not then it's probably the root cause of the problem because the system has nothing configured to boot to.

"asus" laptop boot from bios

Hi.

If you are trying to install Windows 7 from the USB flash drive then you need to configure the drive so the system will see it as a boot drive, see link below for instructions on how to do this. If you have Windows 7 installed on the flash drive then the boot files may have become corrupt thus preventing you from booting into the operating system. Link for installing Win 7 from USB below >>>>>

How to setup bios when installing windows 7 flash drive?

Hello its not easy to explain in words but here is some videos you can watch:

http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=asus+bios+setup+windows+7&oq=asus+bios+setup+windows+7&gs_l=youtube.12...29502.34046.0.36001.5.5.0.0.0.0.65.271.5.5.0...0.0...1ac._Z__ao0z1EE

You will need adobe flash player to watch:

http://www.adobe.com/downloads/

The asus homepage is here:

http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/Intel_Socket_775/P5PEVM/#download

You will need that for the driver download.

The mainboard does not support Win 7
But you can try the drivers for vista
It sometimes work.

Good luck

My asus eee pc 4g has windows xp program but i want to change it to windows 7,is it possible?how?

You can connect an external dvd drive or use a thumb drive to install windows 7. The thumb drive however will require you to format the drive itself to a different format and install windows files to it in order to make it both bootable and a windows 7 install. Here is a link on how to do that if that is the path you choose:
http://blogs.technet.com/b/aviraj/archive/2009/02/01/installing-windows-7-using-usb-thumb-drive.aspx
WARNING!! - It will take some know-how to be able to use the thumb drive, if you are unsure, get an external Hard Drive.
