2035 is thicker than the 2025 which if you are using the thiner one it is not making good contact. They are the same voltage, but the 2025 also wont last as long due to less reserve.
hi had the same problem with alba 42" (l42m1) spoke to customer services at argos who suggested holding down menu button for 10 seconds then pressing menu again, which aparantly resets remote with tv. Has worked for me, hope it works for you.
Check the micro processor control whether it is in manual mode or not. If not check the sensor whether it is functioning or not. If everything is fine then remote control has to be changed.
when you purchased the identical remote did u ask the supplier if you have to program the new remote or was it preprogrammed at the factory I would start here first.
