Same problem. Symphonic LCD tv. Comes on and stays on for 10 - 20 secs, then goes off.

  • Anonymous Dec 14, 2007

I also have the same problem with my 20" model WF20L6. Symphonic has given the runaround, their authorized repair centers a out of business and the FUNAI (parent co.) office in NJ's phone has been disconnected. The problem with the TV is a bad inverter board which seems to be not available. The hundreds of dollars spend for the TV when new (9mos old) was wasted. Bad product, consumers ripped-off!

Same here, Symphonic 20" lcd purchased 18 months ago paid 300 and some change at Wallyworld (Walmart). Please help!!!!!!!!!!

Same problem here. I've looked for someone to repair it but they keep refering me back to, not Funai.

turns of after 5 minutes and does clicking sound

  • Anonymous Nov 26, 2008

it is simply over heating. Place a fan behind it and it should stay on provided the inverter board has not already gone bad.

These sets that shut down or turn themselves off after a few seconds usally have a bad backlite board in them. look closely at the screen and see if one section looks darker than the rest of the screen (top middle or bottom - top seems most common in my cases). some times if you put the tv on an unused input you can see the variation of light level on the screen, but don't get confussed by looking at the screen from too great of an angle. thanks ......techman 580-243-8025

I have the same problem with mine and its 5 years old I took it apart cause i blew a fuse. I fixed the fuse and got this problem. So my fix was take the tv out back and put 43 7.61mm round in it. The tv is really messed up now but I feel a lot better and know not to buy symphonic any more.

I don't know what Brazzor used, but I believe he submitted incorrect information....I believe if he takes a closer look he'll find those 43 rounds were 7.62mm not 7.61mm...just thought I'd save someone from wasting time looking for 7.61mm...could be tough to find...

I have a vizio e320va that when turned on the backlight flickers repeatedly with picture in and out then starts blinking with vertical lines then the screen goes black and the power stays on, This is all...

The tv is having a problems with the board called T-Con board it is dying and the problems. That why the tv is not sustancening the tv pictures for those coded pictures pixels by the T-Con board to stay on to the tv LCD screen panel. This tv problems only causes by the tv T-Con board it is dying only if the tv problems came on to the tv by itself only.If these problems causes by u or an object by outer forces by hitting to the tv LCD screen panel itself. Now the tv LCD screen panel itself it is dying and the causes.Than the tv it is not repairable,tv now only can it to do a replacement of the tv whole LCD screen panel itself only. Not practical because the tv LCD screen panel are 90% important to the tv and the cost of the tv.If u replacing the tv LCD screen panel itself will cost the same as a new tv.The tv is under a year old,why don't u just call Vizio corp. and take ur tv warrenty repair.

Tv shuts off after only a minute of play

Hi!

Sounds like you have a bad power supply board! This is not hard to do yourself, as long as you are somewhat handy! Take the case apart (back side), and look for some bad caps (capacitors) on the power supply board. They will look bulged on the top an may be a little leaky (brownish stain).

If you see this problem, you can buy a new power supply at www.shopjimmy.com or ebay. You will need the make and model, of your tv to order! Good luck, I hope this is helpful!!

Samsung HPS 5073

Unplug TV, take off the back. One each board there will be capacitors. the tops are flat unless one has blown then it is bubbled up. If you find one that is bad, copy the number and search the internet for a replacement. Unsolder and remove the old one ( there is a line drawn on the negative leg, mark the neg side on the motherboard so you can replace the new one the same way). Now solder the new one back onto the board. This worked for my TV, hope it helps
