Replacing filters for kenmore 144071 humidifier

SOURCE: how do I replace the filter 14909 for the Kenmore

Fairly easy.
Unplug the humidifier.
Make sure the electric cord is free to move.
Remove the water tank and set aside.

Then lift the top of the console upwards. The top
just sits over the body, no latches. You will see a hood that
fits over the filters... lift this up. Filters just lift out and are
easily replaced.

At the same time, clean out the bottom pan... it gets yucky.

filter p/n is 42-14909 or E2R..available through sears.com
OR filters-now.com. Replace 2x per year

Humidifier what does CF stand for
It may mean "Change Filter." After you replace the filter, unplug the humidifier for 30 seconds, and then you plug it back in, the CF code should be gone.

There are 2 filters on each side. They are simply stood up right in the tank and the Black Circular fan shields rest on top of them to keep them in place.
