This is a error that can be fixed with a specific reset sequence. Follow this process carefully. The unit will not turn on for long and turns itself off after about a second so you need to execute step 2 immediately after step one.
Step 1 - Turn on heater
Step 2 immediately press no 1 on the keypad - this will display the error code H01 #68
Step 3 Hold down no 4 for approx 5 secs till the screen goes blank
Step 4 The screen displays all of the settings and resets
Note: you may need to do this a few times before it works - wait some time before retrying. If a reset will fix the problem this is the solution - if it is hardware a service call is required.
It seems the "H01" is some kind of common and fatal error code in many disc players and I have yet to find anyone who has paid the ransom, er cost, to get one fixed as it is cheaper and makes more economical sense to just buy a new unit...
most likely problem with the AJ-D650 is deteriorated electrolytic capacitors on the mechanism drive board. when these caps fail, the mechanism will not load completely, if at all. also check for bad capacitors in the signal path from the head drum. first and easiest step is to clean the heads; often a good cleaning will restore operation to a non-playing machine.
Here the reset procedure that is done through operation panel: press "Clear Modes" botton, then 107,then press and hold the "Stop" key for 3-5 seconds until you see the screen has changed. After that you need to turn the main power swith off and back on.The error code should be reset at this point. If it comes back, you may have a bad thermistor, bad fusing lamp or a bad connector.
IF YOU DID NOT PRESS THE RESET BUTTON NEX TO THE USB PLUG, DO IT. IT WILL REINITIATE THE DEVICE TO THE FACTORY; YOU WILL HAVE TO ADJUST THE CLOCK. I DID BECAUSE IT WAS WORKING AT FIRST.( PAGE 3 OF THE MANUAL) CLAUDE
