Microsoft Outlook 2013

In most cases it is the corrupted Navigation Pane settings file that prevents Outlook from starting successfully, so the first thing you need to do is to mend it. Here's how you can do this on different operating systems:
1. If you use Vista, Windows 7 or Windows 8, click the Start button. On Windows XP, click Start > Run.
2. Type the following command in the search field:
outlook.exe /resetnavpane
Note: Be sure to enter a space between outlook.exe and /resetnavpane.
3. Press Enter or click on the file in order to reset the Navigation Pane settings and then open Outlook.
Or try to repair your outlook.pst file using Outlook Fix Toolbox

Outlook 2010 slow when sending attachments

It could be an outlook add-in. Try starting outlook in Safemode. Close Outlook, Click Start > Run.. type in "Outlook /safe" <--without quotes.
Try resending attachment. If that works close outlook and start it normally.

In Outlook, Click File > Options > Add-ins > GO... (next to Com Add-ins). From here you can go through the list and uncheck what options you don't want.

HOW OUTLOOK 2003 SAFE MODE WORKS

Safe Mode loads Outlook without many of the customization files and add-ins loaded. If Outlook works correctly in Safe mode, the problem is with one of your add-ins or customization files.

You can use one of these methods to start Outlook using a command line switch:

  • Hold Ctrl key as you click the Outlook shortcut.
  • If you use Vista, type outlook.exe /safe in the Start Search field on the Start menu and press Enter.
  • If Run.... is shown on your start menu (any version of Windows) click it and type outlook.exe /safe in the Open field and click OK.
  • Hold the Windows key and press R, then type outlook.exe /safe in the Open field and click OK
