Attached external Iqon monitor to comaq Presario cq56 laptop but getting no input display on monitor..please help
You can't just attach an external monitor to most running laptops. Nothing will happen. You must attach the monitor when the laptop is off, then start the laptop and it will recognize the external monitor and send the video to it.

You have to hold the Fn key and then press F4. There should be 3 settings. Setting 1. Computer Monitor. Setting 2. Computer Monitor and External screen and setting 3. External Screen only. The order changes sometimes but pretty much all laptops follow this sequence in some way.

Restart the laptop and keep tapping f11 key until Recovery Manager window comes up.

Power down your laptop and remove A/C adapter and battery. Be sure to ground yourself to prevent static electricity transfer. Small panel in the middle of bottom of laptop.
Remove screws and laptop RAM is right there. Be sure your RAM matches
as far values and doesn't exceed maximum size supported. There should
tabs that hold the RAM in. Replace pieces of RAM. Computer should recognize the new hardware and acknowledge it when you power it up. Hope that helps..

Yes! it is the inverter board or the backlight behind the display that is the issue.
