I have a Crockpot model SCVP552 which is unfortunately discontinued. I love the unit but my dog broke the Stonware insert (the dog ate my homework....). I emailed crockpot for a suitable replacement and they said they didn't have one but I was welcome to "check out there line of products". This is ridiculous. It's not that old and I really like it and don't want another one. Are there any other options you can recommend? Thanks.

crock pot manufacturers seldom carry parts for the units because it is cheaper to junk units and get new ones something that you will now have to consider
searching for crock pot insets / bowls on e-bay may turn up a replacement suitable unit
easy fix go down to your hardware store and buy a big wooden knob (like you would put on a cabnet to open it) it will even come with its own screw for .99 ! . you will have to snap off with a plyers and a screwdriver whats left of the old knob from the lid . but this fix works great and looks good too !
no parts from rival . if there was the crock and lid are where all the costs are . the main unit costs nothing to make ....... so you would pay nearly as much to buy the crock as a hole unit and with shipping it would end up costing you more than a new one at wall-mart ...... add to that the side handle problem and people getting burned when thay just snap off with no warning trust in this , you need and want a new crock pot and try to not make it a rival , there just not any good right now ! . good luck
