I found this on a website devoted to unlocking DVD players.

You need an OneForAll6 remote (URC 7560)

1. Press DVD device button (set remote to DVD)
2. Press and hold MAGIC until it flashes 2x
3. Enter Setup Code (0539)
4. Press MAGIC again
5. Enter 085
6. Enter 222 222 005 255
7. (should be displayed)
8. Press PLAY

for the remote "SBC RU880":

1. Press and hold 1 and 6 until SYNTH is displayed.

your problem is in power supply

there is a switching circuit in power supply

some capacitor or transistor might be faulty there

also check for loose contact in power supply

it is a simple problem for skilled tech.
