How can i identify the compatibility of a driver

Your sound cards manufacturer keeps a list of drivers and the operating systems they are compatable with at thier support website. If you state a soundcards' brand, model number and the operating system installed on your computer we can check for you.

I forgot my soundcard name and now i lost the cd to instal it and now the sound card is broken. now i want to ask how i detect my soundcard name?

If it isn't a generic sond card, it is invariably printed on the soundcard itself. Find it, and go online and do a search for the drivers. If you have a generic one, you might want to buy an inexpensive name brand one. They offer better compatibility with the many player codecs out there. Good luck.

Hi, you should have the driver CD for soundcard as it is shipped with the new sound card - if not you must download the driver for the soundcard not for the Chipset of the computer. Look at the soundcard - normal the driver manufacturer and model is shown on the "biggest" chip fixed on the soundcard - donwload the driver as shown on the chip of the soundcard from the manufacturer and install. (ensure you select driver for you operating system)

Hope this help.

Compatibility with Windows Vista

Sounds like you have a driver issue. Here is a link of all the sound cards that are supported by Vista: I don't see your card in there, yet. Check with the manufacturer for updated drivers.
