It is not the normal behaviour of a new tablet. Don't mess with it. Your tablet is on warranty. Look up where you should take it for a checkup and repair service
The only thing i can think of is letting the tablet battery totally discharge, then recharge it and hope this resets it. Sorry i cant be of better help
Jack Bower? You might be to impatient! Give it time. (wait) it may eventually respond. Sometimes there are "glogs" in the network and you just have to wait.
When you replace the CMOS battery, you must wait about 10 minutes with the old battery removed, before fitting the new one (if you had a problem with the error message before) - when you fit the new battery, plug the tablet in and don't turn it on - this will give the new battery a chance to power up all of the CMOS on the board and settle down. Then turn it on, wait for the error message about the date and time being wrong, set the time correctly and the problem has gone.
"API failed to initialise" (sic) This means that an Application, Interface has not been able to establish a "Connection" with the base Program, it wishes to associate itself with. Some program that is loading on startup, bootup, isn't working properly, it would most likely be best to, either stop it from starting. or reinstall the faulty program, that's failing. It may be nothing major, but the error message is a bother.
Try to get the error message and then look for the solution in this list of error messages here's the link http://tinyurl.com/ypnef9 if the HDD is curropted you cant save the data , might as well run some HDD diagnostics that was pre-installed in your system by accessing F12 or try to log on Safe mode
