If you following the water line into the back of your refrigerator, it will come to a threaded nut. That is how you disconnect it.

I have a whirlpool refrigerator model et1fttxcq08 and the ice maker works fine but the water dispenser will not. You hear the motor when you press on the dispense button but no water comes out.

you will need to check the water line inside the door and make sure there is no frozen water in the line.

To check and make sure the water valve is working you can disconnect the water hose on the bottom of the door make sure to have a glas or small pot handy, when the water line is disconnected you can try and dispence water and if water comes out then you have frozen water in the line in the door.

You can also use a long piece of weed eater line and sticke it through the water line in the door and it should go all the way through.

If no water comes out when you have it disconnected then the water may be frozen in the lines on the inside of the fridge.

If the water line in the door is frozen you can use a blow dryer and blow hot air in the tub alternating between the top and the bottom of the line this can take awhile to do but will clear it up.

Water dispenser on the door does not dispense water, I changed the water filter thinking it that was the problem and the new filter you heard it fill up with water but still the water will not come out

there could be a frozen water in the line above the dispenser, in order to verify this disconnect the line on the bottom of the door possibliy inside the kick panel.once the line is disconnected push the water dispenser button if the water comes out of the hose. then your line in the door is frozen.this can be cleard by using a hair dryer and blowning air in the bootom of the line then in the top.once the line is clear reconnect it.If now water comes from the line after it has been disconnected the you have a bad fill vle but if you heard water filling the filter idoubt this to be the case. good luck i hope this helps,i would like to knwo how things worked out for you

No water from cold water facuet

Remove lower grill and disconnect the water line going through the freezer door hinge. Usually it is a push lock fitting, which requires you to push the ring2_bing.gif on the end of the fitting toward the center of the fitting while pulling (not hard) on the plastic tube. Now place a pan under the separated plastic hose and try the water dispenser. If water comes out, your problem is a frozen water line in the freezer door. A warmer freezer temp may help, or you can order and install a WR49X10173 water tube heater2_bing.gif. (the heater may take 24 hours to thaw the line, but I have used it successfully several times. Cost about $50) If no water comes out the separated tube when you try to dispense water, reconnect the tube at the hinge by pushing the plastic line back into the fitting. Now, at the back of the refrig., disconnect the water line going from the water valve to the fresh foods compartment. Try to dispense water. No water at valve outlet = bad valve. Water dispensed from valve now = frozen water filter or water line at back bottom of fresh foods compartment. (make sure you disconnect the right tube. If in doubt, disconnect them both, just get them back correctly so your icemaker continues to work) Send me additional comments if needed. Don't rate before you try all the steps.

In winter, How do you drain the ice maker & water line on a 42" side x side in the profile line. The place has no heat in Winter and I want to make sure that it will have no problem again in the...

Disconnect the water lines at the water inlet valve where the water supply comes in. I would disconnect all three. One incoming and two out going. Water dispenser line and ice maker line.
