How to boot hp laptop nx9030 from flash drive

I'm sorry your are having this trouble. I don't know if this will help, I usually like to start with basics. You say your DVD light is flashing ... Remove anything that may be in the drive. You say the NIC is flashing (a good sign) remove the cable if wired, turn it off if wireless. As your computer starts up, press the F8 key (XP) to try to get into safe mode. If this works, try to do a system restore.

If this is not good, you may try a bootable CD if you have one or can get/make one. If yours has or has access to a floppy drive, you could try a sys disk to see what is going on.
