My brother sewing machine was given to a local fixer as the thread kept breaking. I was told that they would contact your service center and get it fixed. But nothing was done. I have now got it back and it is a mess. I live in defence colony New Delhi, where can I take it now to be repaired.
You can probably search the internet for sewing repair service in your area. Other than that, you can try finding the issue yourself.

.There are several things you can try: replace the needle, replace the thread with a different brand, is the thread too large for the needle, are the thread, needle & fabric compatible, verify it is threaded correctly, clean the bobbin and feed dog area, check for burrs or nicks along the thread path, loosen the top tension. NOTE: be sure to ALWAYS RAISE the presser foot when threading the top thread!

Not sure where you can take it. Check your thread tension and bobbin tension. Make sure they are not too tight. Also, how old is your thread? Many times, old thread will break easily. Check your needles for burrs. If there is a burr, the thread will break constantly when the needle moves up and down as it catches on the plate.

try to rethread the machine all the way back to the spool of thread and check the top and bottom tensions on scrap of same fabric

This sounds like a backwards needle. Take out the needle and when you re-insert it back in, make sure that put the flat side to the back.
