Bluray disc wont eject

This is a bad drive. I'd replace it immediately before trying anymore disks lest it damage the disks. Usually this occurs when there is a read error. It is also possible there is a disk stuck in the drive, jammed inside, the sensors, sensing the second disk automatically ejects the one you put in. Either way remove the drive and replace it with a PS3 replacement drive. (Note a way to test if it's a bad bluray lense is to stick a DVD in the drive. If it accepts the DVD and plays, then it can only read the DVDs and not the blu ray disks. If this is the case you've blown the blu ray laser, it still needs to be replaced.) If all else fails take it to a tech place and have them diagnose the problem.

your ps3 laser is definitely on the frits or completely fried. it tends to happen to ps3 more frequent in dusty or smokey homes or rooms. not much you can do it cost overe $100 to fix when you can buy brand new one for $100 more. the problem is fixable but my opinion a new one is a better option. you can still use the burnt laser ps3 to watch netflix or other forms of files not dvd or cd

You have the infamous YLOD, aka. Yellow Light of Death. This is the number 1 cause of pS3's dying. It is an overheating issue linked to your CPU and GPU (the processor chips) You will need to find a local PS3 repair shop who can repair this. Do not try to attempt repairs seen on the internet yourself as some would suggest.You could make things much worse and render the unit totally unresponsive. The repair process takes about 3 hours.

If you have a unit that is not backwards compatible, any non 60g or 80g then you can retrieve your disc.

Power off the unit using the toggle switch on the back. Hold down the 'eject' button and turn the toggle switch back from off to on. This will run a fan test and eject your disc. Remember, this will only work on the 20, 40g models. Not the backwards compatible units with the 4 usb port holes and the memory card slots.

Not sure what you are playing it on. A BLURAY disc needs a BluRay compatible disc player, PS3 has one built in. Most PC DVD drives dont play BluRay as standard. Normal HOME DVD players of course cant play them either.

Hi, i'm assuming you have a 40GB phatty PS3. Let's try this: - turn off the ps3 with the main switch, behind the console - press the EJECT touch-key on the front, HOLD on it while you turn on the console with the main switch... keep holding the eject key, if it'll work you'll get your disc out. If it won't work just try a couple of times more then if you don't succeed please advise me with more information about your PS3 model and I'll try to bring you other solutions :) Regards, Peter

i have seen this before... there is a little eye inside the ps3 bluray drive that senses when a disc enters and starts turning wheels with rubber feet on them to pull the disc in. when that eye goes bad for what ever reason the only way to get it to accept discs is to force it in slightly and it will spread the acceptance arms and pull it in. if it will not eject the disc correctly then the drive has been disassembled and needs to be reseated until it function right.

the acceptance eye is fairly cheap to buy online but can be a pain to replace if you dont know what you are doing.

turn the main switch off on the back of the unit then place you finger in the eject switch now turn the main power switch on the back of the unit with out removing your finger the unit will power on now just keep your finger there for a few seconds until the blue light start blinking now take your finger off if there is a disk it will come out if the bluray drive needs to be reset it will reset by doing this

see insie the disc chamber there are 2 stoppers that pop up when they do you cant get a disc in. try this do a front reset. best way is to turn the power off in the back then put your finger on the front power switch hold it there then turn on the back switch while still holding the front wait till it beeps twice then release this should help. If fail do a system reset Settings>System Settings> Reset All Settings. reply if still fail will have more.

unfortunately your bluray laser has probably failed or is failing. the diode burns out quickly on these older units. call sony they charge 150 or send it to me for 100..24hr turnaround
