4 Simple Steps to Direct TV Remote Codes

You have to program the remote control to synchronize with TV. If you wish to get moredetails; codes, three digits, four digits or five digit ones, check this link. Pull up older posts there. Setup code list and setup instructions to some popular model remote controls are given. Select the 'Timeslide' option from the drop-down list by the 'Sidebar' at the display window. It will make search easy.

If there is setup codes for your TV brand with the code list of the remote control you bought, it should synchronized with the TV. If there is no code, you can try a code search method. Even if it do not help you, you must have to buy an other one.
Code SearchIf after trying "Direct Code Entry" your device does not respond, or if your brand is not listed, try doing a search of the code library for your code by following these steps.

1. Manually turn on the device (TV, VCR, etc.) to be controlled.
2. Press and hold the SETUP button until the red indicator stays on, then release the SETUP button.
3. Press and release the desired Mode button (TV, VCR, etc.). The red indicator blinks once, then stays on.
4. Press the CHANNEL UP button repeatedly (up to 300 times) until the device to be controlled changes channel. The red indicator blinks, then stays lit.
5. Press and release MUTE to install the code. The indicator light goes off.

Most users will want to store VCR codes under the VCR button, Cable codes under CBL, etc. If you want to store a VCR code under CBL, etc., first follow the procedure for Direct Code Entry and press CBL in step 2 of Direct Code Entry, then enter ANY VCR code in step 3 of Direct Code Entry. Just try a code search method. If your remote control have programmed in codes for your TV, it will respond. If not, make sure that the remote you have no code for your device, and it can't be setup with it.

4. With your device on, press CHANNEL UP. If the device responds, no further programming is required. Note: If some buttons do not operate your device, try one of the other codes for your brand

I have the same setup like you. Direct TV and Emerson LCD TV. The Direct TV remote stores a limited amount of codes and none worked on my TV. Sadly it's not something you can update. They seem to only stick with the popular codes. Welcome to the "head of the curve" like me. lol

IN THE GOOGLE SEARCH ENGINE TYPE VIVITEK V37835 MANUAL. ONCE YOU GET THE MANUAL LOOK IN THE SECTION OF THE MANUAL THAT SAYS SETUP CODES FOR SATTELITE RECEIVERS. FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS FOR PROGRAMMING UR REMOTE. ALSO WANT TO LET YOU KNOW THAT I HAVE DISH SATTELITE AND I USE MY VIVITEK REMOTE NOT THE SATTELITE REMOTE FOR MY PROGRAMMING. MAYBE TRY THIS. IT WORKS FOR ME.
