My GF dropped the phone in the water but she pulled it out immediately , took off the battery and used a hair dryer to dry the phone and battery. but now the phone turns on and gives this message
"vx8500 downloader DO NOT POWER OFF"
and then it shuts off after being stuck there for a couple minutes. can anyone help me? I know it isn't the battery since we have like 4 of them and have tried it with all and they all give the same message

This happened to me too. except i dropped my phone in he toilet. and mine doesn't turn off after a couple minutes. it's just stuck there. i think we are pretty much screwed. are you insured with verizon? if you are you can get a new phone for free but you have to pay 50 bucks for the processing fee or something.
I sprayed mine with a hose. it works, but, it will often freeze, and do other weird things. i dont know why but when i leave the phone closed, turn it on quick slide it up, then hit all of the # keys, that screen comes up
