49xx,xx is a generic firmware error ( windows blue screen of death type of thing)
lots of things can cause this the most common by far is a corrupt file:
firstly disconnect the printer from the pc and turn off then wait 10 seconds before turning back on ( still not connected to the computer)
the printer should now be able to come to ready, ( IF not- main PCA failure - ) now clear the print queue form the computer by opening the printers folder selecting the printer and right click menu to ' see whats printing' - then clear everything in the list.
now reconnect the printer and have the printer driver send a test page, if this is printed your error has gone! :)
The spooler is not on your printer it is in the Windows folder on your computer and is used to hold documents whilst preparing to print.
Normally this service is set to start automatically and there are a number of reasons why it may of stopped but try this:
Right click on "Computer" in your Menu and then left click on "Manage".
In the page that appears click "Services and applications" and Click "Services"
Navigate down to "Print Spooler" and double click on that line.
A box should appear showing properties of the Spooler.
It should show
"Startup Type = Automatic"
"Service Status = Running"
If neither of these are true then change the Startup type to Automatic
and click on the "Start Button"
The service will then either start or tell you why it cannot start.
I had this problem today with my wireless Brother MFC-990CW using Windows 7, and when I went to see what s printing, then printer, it wasn t showing that I had checked the use printer off-line
So, on my pc I went to the start button then chose:
- Double click your printer
- New print drivers will start to install
- Right click the icon that is a copy made of your printer setup
- Set this as your default printer
I was then able to print and my printer didn t show as being off-line anymore. This is a lot easier than having to uninstall and install the printer again using the disc.
Go to Control Panel/Printers. Right click on your printer's name, and hit Print Test Page. If printer prints a page out, then the problem is likely with the software you're using to print - make sure you have selected the right printer in the dropdown. If the printer's name doesn't show in the Printers folder of Control Panel, the driver for it has not been installed. Do so and try again.
Go to START MENU Select Commad prompt and right click & runs as administrator (For Windows Vista or Windows). Type the letter "cmd" Type the word "net stop spooler" Exit Go to C drive Choose to Windows Folder Click show content Choose system32 folder Choose spool folder Choose printer And delete all printing jobs pending Again go back to CMD window and type the word "net start spooler" Restart your computer also turn off your printer and switch it on. It will work fine right now I hope it helps you
