Check, whether data cable and power cable to the HDD are intact? then open BIOS and see whether IDE or SATA port enabled? if both fails the HDD is most probably needs replacement.

Toshiba satellite l305-s5933 computer stuck on the Toshiba leading innovation screen. it have the option to press F2 or F12, but it don't work

Try removing the hard disk and check if after removing HDD is must show "Boot Device Not Found" , if it shows the same it means your HDD is faulty or loose connect try reconnecting it , if remain same replace the HDD. This problem happen in common due to HDD failure as system keep on trying to detect the connected HDD but unable to detect it.

Unable to open Hard disk drive

try running a check disk to check for errors. In windows command prompt type chkdsk C (substitute C for the letter of the drive).

Has anything happened to these drives such as dropping that would cause it to not be readable? What format is the disk FAT or NTFS?

PC not detecting HD

Hi,
HDD not Detecting only if you HDD data cable damage, HDD power Cable damage, HDD port damage, or HDD bad sector. But normally you change HDD data or power cable or mother board port. And i suggest mother board all connection disconnect and only HDD connect and open bios and search your HDD detected.

Thanks..

Hi i am Syed Tarique Anwer,From Yamaha India,i having a Toshiba Laptop(Portege S100),there was some problem with OS ,so i formatted the HDD on diffrent system and reinstalled the HDD again in this...

It sounds like the HDD controller may be bad. When you thought it was the OS having a problem it sounds like the controller was going out.Unless the HDD you were connecting to it was bad.

Will not boot

Check the cable(s) and jumper, all are connected as per the requirement. goto BIOS and detect the HDD from there, swap the HDD to any pc and try, if unable to detect then you may have to replace with new one.
